I haven't heard any new updates on the Mega-Mississppi park in quite sometime. Is an announcement coming soon?
I just saw you post in another thread so I thought I would try to catch you now.

Well, I am heading down to the site this weekend to check on the road relocation. Once the road is relocated, the land purchase will be final and construction can begin. But I must say this... I have NOTHING to do with when the park is announced and I DO NOT have anything to do with the financial aspect of the park. I am simply a consultant to the guy regarding the attractions.
Also, I have other clients that I have been working for. I have submitted rides to two different parks in the last month or so. Hopefully, mine will be chosen. But I am going up against the design God himself...Stengel.

Just curious, Chris, what are your qualifications for this sort of thing? You aren't an engineer, right? You're more of a Stengel/John Wardley type obviously, but I'm just wondering what your education and work background are to get into that sort of work.-----------------

Well, my degree is in Information Technology Management from Christian Brothers University here in Memphis. I did some IT consulting at Universal Studios in Orlando and got into design by someone walking over to my desk and seeing some concept drawings on it. I did some minor queue work for IOA, but no rides themselves. I went home to Arkansas one weekend and ran into an old friend of the family that he needed some research for a park he was trying to build. So, he hired me on retainer to do research and to design his websites. I originally was gonna be the head of IT at the park. But, I came up with about 40 designs for attractions and he liked them. I also had some friends at SDC and I did some minor design work on Buzzsaw Falls. Well, I decided to open up my own consulting firm and here I am. I have NO engineering background, but I have many engineer friends that I have on retainer to help me out. The main thing you need in the design business is creativity. That one thing can determine if you are successful or not.
Hopefully, I have answered your questions.
Chris

chris, pretty cool how everything sort of fell into place with you. It always helps to have friends in high postitions but I am sure it is mostly your talents that got you to where you are now. What kind of work did you do on Buzzsaw Falls, since I heard the theming is superb?-----------------
