hey all you phantom fans!

About a month ago I was standing in line for Mantis and I startred talking to somebody who happened to live outside of pittsburgh.A we were talking he noticed my steel phantom shirt and brought up some very good news. Well you know how Kennywood owns Idlewild Park. I heard from him that Steel Phantom will be set up at Idlewild next year! Therefore we can still ride this one of a kind steel rollercoaster. And also I was just wondering if SP is the only looping rollercoaster with a drop over 200 feet?
Um, NO.

Idlewild is very FAMILY-oriented. Even if they HAD the proper place to install the Phantom, they would NEVER put something so intense there.

I believe it is the only 200 footer with inversions. I don't think we will be seeing the Phantom at Idlewild. Kennywood is using the structure of the Phantom for the new coaster. I also don't think that Idlewild has the terrain to fit the Phantom. I did hear Dollywood has the perfect area though. I dont see the Phantom going anywhere but that amusement park in the sky. :(

This topic has been rumored to death! SP is going away **for good** It will NOT be re-created anywhere. They (KW) will NOT be re-using any parts of the coaster, what-so-ever!

Though true that Idlewild is possibly the world's most family oriented park, their topography is probably the most favorable of any park. Besides the fact that they own most of Ligonier, there are several revenes in the park suitable for the Phantom. As much as I want the coaster to hang around, though, I wouldn't put my money on Idlewild.
