Hershey's Rollersoaker!

I wasn't expecting much from Hershey's new ride, nor was I was I overly excited. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. I looked on the new 2002 map, and the first thing I noticed about Rollersoaker's area is the warning: "You will get wet ." That sums it up well. Whether you are riding or just an observer you are will be completely soaked. It is a great a great family ride. As a coaster it isn't anything exciting. Add the water guns, geysers, fountains, and you have a fun water coaster unlike anything I have ridden before. Sure I prefer hypers or woodies with intense drops, and good airtime, but I wouldn't put down rollersoaker for being just plain ole fun. Nothing scary. Just fun. Was anyone else there opening day? What did you think?
That is a cool addition for the whole family. Small but fun. It proves that bigger is not neccesarily better. How were the waits?

I headed directly there at 10am when the park opened, and I only waited 10 minutes. I only rode it twice. Once going forward, and once backward. The 2nd time I waited about 20 minutes. I believe the longest wait for opening day was probably around 35 minutes at the most. Not bad at all.
I agree that these rides have a huge fun factor. After riding Flying Super Saturator a few weeks ago, I can't wait to ride Roller Soaker.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.

I gotta wait until June 20th to ride. Listen to this:

My dad originally was gonna take me out to Hershey this coming weekend, but then I found out I had work, so those plans were screwed over, lol. Not like it's anything all that bad, though. I'll get paid for 16 hours of work, and my Six Flags ID gets me into Hershey free anyways. June 20th is the day after I get out of school, so all is cool, lol.

I've heard only great thigns about these rides. It puts the fun back into coasters. Plus, I love water rides, so i'll be right at home!

If your really evil in this life, do you come back as toilet paper????
ladies and gentlemen, due to an increase in line jumping, people caught cutting in line will no longer be ejected from the park. u will be ejected from the ride

How does your SFTP ID get you into Hershey? (rhyming unintended)

To release the tank, you use a joystick. You only get one tank of water also.

I think it's a workers ID that gets you into hershey for free, but I can't confirm that.

I was there on saturday but I didn't ride it till later in the day when they shut off the falls. Around nine it broke down for the rest of the night.

I'm like you CF, I wasn't expecting much, but the ride turned out to be a lot more fun then I expected. Those geysers are insane, you can hear the people getting wet. As for the bombs, on the ground it doesn't look like 4 gallons of water coming down and it's really hard to hit a target on the ground from the train, as most people are trying to dodge the water bombs.

It's not too hard to stay dry on the ground if you're just walking through, but if you stand there, once and a while some unsuspecting people walk through and get a wet suprise.

As for the restraints, I really hope setpoint goes farther with them. It's worth riding once just to ride a suspended coaster with lapbars only. One other note, the seatbelts on the left side are longer then the seatbelts on the right side, for us larger riders.

All in all it's not a full blown thrill ride, but it's a hell of a lot of fun.

Hershey has a deal with 2 local six flags(gr8 adv & america,) Knoebels Grove, BGW, and I think PKD that hershey employees get in free at their parks. In return those park's employee's get in free at Hersheypark. Dorney Park used to be on the list until Cedar Fair bought it.

Coaster Fantom:

Add DelGrossos Family Amusement Park to that list as well.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery, and today is a gift and that's why it is called the present.

We rode twice on Sunday. Pulling the lever to release the water was fun - but it is impossible to target from the rear facing seat. The first time the wait was approx. 35 - 45 minutes. The second time the wait was about 20 minutes (the sun was no longer shining). I agree that the fountains, geysers, etc. make the ride. Everyone was wet - most people were soaked. The rear facing seat riders tended to come off drier. I hope they are able to run more than 1 car at a time (the station appeared to be set-up to refill 3 at a time) - otherwise the wait is going to be several hours by July.

so wait, if i have an sfwoa season pass i cannot get into hershey's for free?
You have to be an employee of the park not just have a season pass.

I'm an employee, and my EMPLOYEE ID gets me in.

Dorney is still on that list. I get Dorney, Knoebels, Hershey, BGW, PKD, and maybe one or two others.

Kyle, you're confusing people.

The reason he gets into HP for free with his SF ID is because the parks in that general area (Dorney, HP, SFGAd) all allow each others employees free admisison to their park.

This is my understanding of it. I know the same can be said for WOF, SFStL, and Silver Dollar City. A very nice gesture, I think!
