Hersheypark Opening Day 5/4/07

Associated parks:
None

We arrived to Hersheypark opening right at 10am. Most of the crowd was headed to Storm Runner, so we headed straight out to Midway America to ride the Wildcat with Millennium Flyer trains. What a difference that makes to that ride. We got 2 front seat, and 2 backseat laps.

We then pretty much had everything ridden by 1:30 pm. Wild Mouse, both sides of Lightning Racer, Storm Runner, The Trailblazer, The Great Bear, The Coal Cracker, The Sooperdooperlooper. The only ride that we skipped due to a long line was the Comet. Front seat ride for Storm Runner(only running 1 train) was our longest wait(around 40 minutes.)

The new boardwalk area was all blocked off, so you couldn’t see everything that the new waterpark will have, but I did get a few good pictures.

I still think that they should have made a separate gated waterpark away from the amusement park, but it wasn’t up to me.

It was a good day. Light crowds always make for a great time.

Cool pics. At least the construction (stockade) fence appears to be down now.
Good to hear about Wildcat

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

The stockade fence was down by Easter. Also, a good view can be had from the Wild Mouse, and I hear that Lightning Racer also has a good view but it wasn't running at Easter so I couldn't check it out.

They were short staffed on Friday, and that is why a lot of the coasters were only running one train. Lightning Racer, Sooperdooperlooper, Comet, Trailblazer, and Storm Runner. They did have 2 trains running on the Wildcat and the Great Bear. It was really evident how short staffed they were by the way that a lot of the food stands weren't even open.

I was happy to see them opening on a Friday for the 1st day of the season rather then Saturday like they had on the past. Hopefully they'll continue to do that. I am thinking that they will judging by the amount of school groups that were there for the day.
