HersheyPark in September?

Hey All!

I am posting because my wife and I have tickets to HersheyPark. We're from Pittsburgh, and were supposed to go to the park for the first time on August 7th, but were rained out. So we postponed the trip until tomorrow, the 13th, and they're once again calling for 90% chance of potentially severe thunderstorms in Hershey. Our work schedules are becoming more strict (teacher and MLB groundskeeper), so it's beginning to look like we would have to wait until a Sunday in September. Can anyone tell me if that's a good idea? Will any of the roller coasters be closed due to it being late in the season? Specifically Skyrush and Storm Runner. Would you recommend getting Fast Track passes for a September Sunday? Any advice or answers would be greatly, greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

I understand what you just asked, and I'm going to completely ignore that and say:

If there's any way you can make it work NEXT week, August 19-23, do that. While schools in Pittsburgh generally start the week before Labor Day, apparently those in the central/eastern part start earlier. We went during that week last year and did the whole park with multiple re-rides, including the waterpark, and the Troegs brewery (kids LOVED it!) in two days. Almost everything was a walk-on both days.

As far as September... idunno.

Hi

I appreciate the response! We wish we could do next week, unfortunately, she starts back to school, and the Pirates begin their longest homestand of the year, so our schedule is swamped. I really appreciate it!

It’s not late in the season. I could be wrong but I don’t think Hersheypark starts closing down coasters till Christmas Candylane in December? Don’t they run pretty much everything throughout Hersheypark in the Dark?

But then again, what do I know?

Typically Sundays in September are perfect for short waits on all their major rides unless they start the $20 per person with each season pass(up to 4 per passholder) like they offered last season. No offering of those yet, so you should be good.

That's when my wife and I go to ride the coasters without long waits. If you any other questions feel free to ask.

Nowhere close, but a friend and I are making the trip to Kennywood on Monday. Our hope is that a similar situation will arise, with a lower number of visitors.

Based on past years, Monday should be fairly busy at KW.

Yeah, like you would know.

Well, maybe we’ll spring for the... whatever they have there. It’s a limited number of rides or something. If only we had an expert around here...

I guess I’ll have to check the website.

What Kennywood has is the VIP tour and it's pricier than Fast Lane or FlashPass.

There's a version with one lap per ride for $50 and an unlimited version for $125. (Ballpark, I don't know exact numbers offhand.)

Hi

That certainly doesn't sound more expensive that fast lane or flash pass...

Thank you.

Thank you for all of your replies. Is Hershey very busy on Tuesdays? We're going tomorrow and are curious what to expect. What's the best game plan for handling the park?
