Hershey04 - giving props where due

Mamoosh's avatar
More than a week ago I put forth a challenge in this thread for people to "put up or shut up" when it came to Hershey's new coaster. Ramona Garner and 3r1c were the first two to accept the challenge and they were correct. Following them were Comet Rider, Flyingmonkeyking, and Montu001.

After that the thread was hijacked...lol!

Way to go, guys!

Hey, it hasn't official been announced yet! Tomorrow at noon! S&S XLC!!!

Damn, I really thought it was going to be an Intamin Flyer.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Crashmando - Hershey has not announced it but the news already broke in the trades.

Sigh....

Call me a spoiled rotten... but...

Herhsey's #9 and 10 (Roller Soaker and this yet unnammed rumored to be, but basically all but verified Rocket coaster) are two in their line up that I just can't get excited over.

Here's still holding out hope for something BIG in the future (say around 2007 for the 100the anniversary of the park) in that long strip of land on the opposite side of Hersheypark Drive.

Oh well... at least the lines for Comet, Great Bear and Wildcat may ease up with this new addition (won't affect Lightning Racer much since I've never seen a long line on that coaster).

Go away, I'm sulking.

Moosh- you're REALLY excited for this ride considering you've started a couple of topics relating to this, arent you? :)

Heh, Vater - me too!

This was one of the funnest "speculations" I can remember for a while. There were just so many people that seemed so sure it wasn't a rocket coaster - even though that's been the predominant rumor since the enthusiast community found out something new was coming. Everyone had a reason, and not one panned out. Too bad those same ridicuolous reasons will be pulled back out when it's time for the bulk of the 2004 speculation.

I think it's also funny how enthusiasts look so much to past trends to try to guess future trends - especially in an industry where pushing the limits is key.

"Rocket coasters arean't reliable enough"
"Hershey is a family park - to big a thrill"
"No inversions on a rocket"

The Hershey speculation thread just shows how uninformed many "knowledgable" enthusiasts really are.

Dorney Park Visits in 2003: 15

After riding both Xcelerator and TTD this year, I'm firmly in the "Intamin Rockets have drawing power" camp. With this news, it's time to start thinking about a trip to Hershey in '04......

BTW - thinking later in the year, 'cause I do realize that my odds are higher the longer they have to work the bugs out....

Big up to Brooklyn!

What's that? We're not giving those sorts of props? Oh.

May the Schwarz be with you.

The only thing that is suprising to me is how cheap this is. 10 million to me seems very cheap, but it might just be me. But then again, it is only 2,600 feet long.

Ooh, look the top hat is going to be inverted!

RCT MASTER - nope, actually I'm not all that excited about it, considering it's almost 3,000 miles away from home. It's just the only exciting new piece of news right now.

mOOSH [only started two threads on it]

I think it's nice Mamoosh that you saw fit to give props to those to whom it was due. All too often I see people maligned for simply trying to fill the coaster community in with info they thought they'd like, and it's nice to see them get some appreciation. Thanks for the info guys! :)

Take care and God bless!

Nuh uh! You started three...this one, this one, and one that got deleted.
