Hershey Park All Nighter

Just saw this on HP's site, and it looks pretty cool, that is if you're in high school. I know things like this have been talked about, but this is the first time I've noticed an all night event at a park. So, I guess have there been any of these types of things before, and if so how were they? Also, any body think they're going? I'd like to, but I think I live a little too far away and I don't know if I could get 9 people from my school to join me.

They had all-nighters at Disneyland (or was it DCA?) when a friend of mine was teaching high school in California a few years ago.

When I was in high school, we got a crappy boat tour of Chicago's lakefront. The tour wasn't crappy... just the boat. Hmm... crappy boat tour, or all-nighter at a park? *** Edited 2/9/2004 10:56:20 PM UTC by Olsor***

Many years ago, Lakemont Park had some type of this as an addition to local schools' proms. I think their goal was to keep prom night safe and drug/acohol free.

I graduated in '93 at Altoona High, and attended said event at Lakemont. It was a great time. We had the senior prom at the casino, and afterwards Lakemont park all night ('till I think 4 am).
Last year I chaperoned my cousin, and 11 of his friends from Redland High School. It was a blast. It seems like you have the park to yourself. Very peaceful! We are planning on doing it again this year.
Why do I have to be a sophmore! One more freakin year and I could've gone with all my friends that are seniors. :(

Speaking of park all nighters, does Six Flags Great America or any of the other Six Flags parks offer Grad nights? I remember going to the park in 1986 for Grad Night and seeing Night Ranger in the Grand Music Hall. Good times.

Certain victory.

How much does that cost? That seems amazing!
Darien Lake used to do this 9pm till 5am the night before opening day, can't say if they do anymore. Only high school seniors, a date, and chaperones were admitted. I went in '95(I was a junior, the date of a senior) and '96. Of course that was before they were flagged. Fun, but man was it crowded. The lines for roller coasters were 4+ hours, and all they had was Predator and Viper. The coolest part was MTV was there and had this huge stage set up and it was like the block parties you used to see on TV. People were there from all over the state.

But then again, what do I know?

I think this is a great idea, I hope I can attend to it. I read this last night and wrote up a little proposal to give to the head of student government at John Glenn H.S. on Long Island. It seems that they love the idea and a meeting has been made to see if this can be approved. Crossing my fingers!!!
I am going to be a Freshman next year, so I'll have to wait awhile, but Storm Runner at 2AM, mmm mmm good. I cannot wait to go when I am a junior/senior, when hopefully another coaster is built [Senior year for me is '07-'08, possibly Hershey's 100th anny ride is going to be big].... For everyone going this year, have a great time!
