Hershey Park & December

Hey there I'm from Minnesota, my girl friend and I are planning a trip to go to Hershey Park in December for Christmas break. This will be my 2nd visit but this time it will be in December. I have some questions is it worth a drive in December will they have everything open mainly the coasters is what were going for expecialy Lightning Racer & Great Bear. Thanks.

I think the only coaster they have open may be The Trailblazer, and I am not even sure about that. I have been there for the past few seasons. I am a season pass holder. They basically have some flat rides open, and the train. It may be different since the weather has been so nice, but I doubt it. They do all their winter maintenance on their coasters after Halloween. They do have things to do, but if you are going to ride the great bear, and Lightning Racer you'll be dissappointed...

There are no coasters open at HersheyPark during their holiday event (Christmas Candylane).  Go to their website (http://www.hersheypark.com) and follow the links to this event - they have a whole list of the rides that will be open.  They are mostly kiddie rides, but they do run the Scrambler, Pirat and Bumper Cars... yippie!  It might be a nice place to take your girlfriend for the Xmas season, but as far as coasters you are out of luck.

I'm gonna have to agree w/PhoenikPhan nor coasters will be open in December they usually have snow down there so I doubt thye will have many open
We don't open any of the rollercoasters for the "CandyLane" season.  In fact, I think that only the front portion of the park is open (up to Carrousel Circle and maybe part of Music Box Way).  It's been awhile since I've been to this particular season event, but I know for a fact that none of the coasters operate.

What I can't figure out about HP's season is why on Earth are they closed for the two weekends right before Halloween - most every park now takes full advantage of the hallloween season, but we had to go to Dorney over Hershey during this year's trip to PPP.  Last time I was at Hershey was about 25 years ago...don't remember too much beside the ride-through factory tour...

Rollergator, if your're ever back in the area, you must visit Hersheypark again. You probably wouldn't recognize some of the place!

SFA 2002-What are they building?

I visited Christmas Candylane today, and I don't know why I thought the trailblazer was open. Even though it has been quite warm here they still have to do the winter maintenance on all the coasters. I did take a nice horse drawn carriage ride, and had a few rides on the Merry Go Round. The atmosphere with all the christmas lights is a nice touch. I can't wait for the 4-D Theater to open at Chocolate World. I am sure that will be a treat. That and Rollersoaker will make for a nice 2002 season. Being an enthusiest we can only hope for a hyper or multi looper, but I am never dissappointed with Hershey. I guess I can only be dissappointed the way some people are about Wicked Twister. Any coaster as an addition is a good thing be it a double spiked impulse or a family water coaster.
I still may go just to see the park again because  I liked it so much the first time just because the town was so nice and the park was very clean and the employee's were nice also and I just want get out of Mn for a while a way from the snow & cold for christmas break I may vist Pittsburg for the first time if I have time.

If you like Christmas even a little, Candylane should be apart of your agenda. It's that good.
