Hershey, PA Question

This summer my family and I are going to Hershey, PA. What is the best campground to stay at and what is the closest one to Hershey Park? Is there one in the park like CP? When is the best time to visit Hershey? What is the best coaster at the park besides the new Storm Runner? Thanks

there is this campground that is really close to the park, the one problem is that u might get stuck right next to the freight train tracks, and those things go buy every 2 hours or so... i don't remember it's name, but it's like... 2 minutes away. I find August to be a good time to visit Hershey, because then most people have already gone there and had there fun and all the ruckus is starting to die down, my personal favorite ride at the park is Lightning Racers, one of my favorite woodies ever, hope u have a good time on ur trip.

As far as places to visit outside of Hersheypark, I enjoy Hershey Gardens, a beautiful and quiet 23 acre garden located on the hill below the Hotel Hershey. There are very nice flower gardens, rose gardens, and shrub plantings to stroll through as well as a wooded Japanese garden, an entertaining butterfly house, and a fun and interactive children's garden which is quite large. The entire property overlooks Hersheypark and its location offers almost aerial-like views of the park. If you have an appreciation for calmer activities, then it is something you should include in your trip. It also makes a good respite from the crowds of Hersheypark, much like ZooAmerica, and I like to break up my multi-day park trips with these quieter activities.

Lightning Racer is the best. You can get five rides in (switching from lightning to thunder) in an hour's time. Super Saturator is great fun. Low rider capacity makes for long lines, so ride it early. Be prepared to get drenched. They don't call it Super Saturator for nothin'. Wildcat is popular, but not my favorite. Great Bear is a world class inverted coaster for good reason. Storm Runner should be fantastic.
