Help with Theme Park Marketing paper

Hey guys, for my Hospitality Industry Marketing class I chose the topic of how theme parks choose which type of ride to build, and then how they market it.

I have a fairly good bank of information in our Universal Orlando Foundation library, but if you have links to anything that I could pull up directly on the web that would be a big help.

Such things as links to Paramount ride surveys (new and/or old ones), and info or pics relating to the marketing of new rides (or at the time they were new).

Anything else on-topic would be a help, too. Thanks guys.

I would think that you could find the Paramount surveys through Google or through the main Paramount Parks site. I have a Batwing "airline"-style ticket (they announced the ride at BWI) that I'm pretty sure I scanned both sides of already. I'll see if I can send it to you over the weekend. I also have an article (somewhere) that announced Power Tower at Cedar Point (from the Morning Call in Allentown, PA).

I would suggest hunting down some Amusement Todays. I have one issue that I bought at Knoebels, and it's filled with PR articles, manufacturer's ads for various newly installed attractions etc. I'm sure they have some on Ebay for sale, and if that fails, I know someone on this site who has a lot of issues (that is magazines:)). If you don't know, it's strictly a trade publication, so I would think it would be a goldmine for you.

Have you tried contacting the PR department of a few parks? Perhaps a few of them would be willing to help you?
well I guess we got the marketing part but you'd probably have to talk to some of the parks for the picking of the rides.
