Help Save Your Favorite Characters

Universal Studios is going to be letting many of its characters go. Among them are Doc Brown, the MIB agents, and Dr. Doom. They are also getting rid of the WWWest Stunt Show and are putting the Eighth Voyage of Sinbad on a seasonal schedule. Please voice your oppinion here:

I cannot express in words how little I care about this.

If it was up to me, I'd get rid of all theme park roving characters, and shows for that matter. I know, I know, they serve a purpose, people go to parks to watch them, etc. I'm just saying I'd be glad not to have to hear another off-tune rendition of "Hit Me Baby One More Time" while in line, or avoid a sweaty teenager in a Foghorn Leghorn costume.

Wow - I was just at USF and IOA and wondered why Dr. Doom leads the super hero parade. Shouldn't he be separate? Couldn't the super heros at least pretend to be concerned that Dr. Doom is hanging around?

I think the Jimmy Neutron ride and attached store were WAY cooler when it was Hanna Barbera-themed. So if they get rid of Barney Rubble (one of the characters on the list) but bring in Jimmy Neutron and Spongebob characters, is there really an issue?

I still don't get why people start these stupid petitions to try and influence a company's business decision. This case in particular is funny because I'm sure they have market research about what characters people respond the most to.

Or perhaps the more likely scenario is that they need to control costs and someone's gotta go.

Just to let you know, I didn't start this petition. I came upon it on another site, and thought it would be worth a shot. I know that Universal probably won't even look at this, but its the principle of the matter. It's like voting for the underdog even when you *know* he's not going to win. It doesn't matter that you know your candidate isn't going to win, what matters is that you are voicing your oppinion.

And Den, I understand what you are saying, but the characters at Universal are more than just teenagers in a costume. The characters are professional actors, not some kids at a summer job.

They're really just kids who like to perform and are good at it. "Professional Actors" is a long stretch.

And I wouldn't lose sleep over this. Sounds like a temporary budget cutback to me, they'll be back when times get better.

The kids are paid to act; therefore, they are professional actors, and if things continue as they have in the past, many will attempt a life in the performing arts. You'd better believe this gig will be on their resumes.

Professional merely means paid.

What the heck does this have to do with anything, Isn't this a coaster site? Also does anyone really really deeply care about this other than the ones who are soon to be out of work?

I liked the MiB skit that they did. When I was there, they picked my dad as the alien for the show. It was pretty funny. RIP: MiB and Dr. Doom.
