Help Me Plan My Coaster Vacation!

We are leaving saturday morning and heading out to PKI for Sunday and Monday.

I know the first coaster I'm heading to is The Beast since this is the first time that my daughter can ride these coasters..she didn't go with me and my hubby 2 years ago when we went.

What will the park be like on Sunday and Monday for anyone who has gone at this time in the season?

What are the busiest rides and what to avoid..and what is Tombraider exactly?

Next we head to CP on Tuesday and Wednesday..again we were there 2 years ago and I will be running for my first ride on MF..how is Wicked Twister and what kind of lines should we expect?

Wednesday we split the day between Soak City and CP..is Soak City good overall and for my kids?

What kind of lines can we expect or should expect at CP/Soak City for Tues/Wed..any help would be gladly appreciated!!

..

I can't speak much for PKI as to crowds, etc., but due to the fact that you are visiting early in the season, it could be worse. It is an expansive park with plenty of blacktop....bring your sunscreen and reapply it regularly. I've had a couple scorchers at PKI.

Wicked Twister at the Point is great. I'm sure you'll love it. Same for MF - it really does live up to all the hype. Soak City is fun but I couldn't spend a whole day there. Your daughter should have plenty to do, though.

Enjoy your amusement park vacation. I've done the PKI/CP circuit back to back before, and you are definitely going to have an excellent (if a bit tiring) time.

Lol, that's weird, I'm going to Pki on Sunday and Monday too. Most likely our bus will leave Saturday, lol. My friends just asked me if I wanted to go so i can't reject any amusement park offer. I honestly think Pki is a bit overrated and i thought Pkd offered better coasters...well nvm that last thought. Pkd has better steel, and Pki has better wood. Oh well back on the subject, I'm not goin to Cp until later on in August so I couldn't tell ya about lines. You should expect 1hr and a half waits for Millennium and about an hour for Raptor. Probably 45 for Maggie. Dont know about Wicked Twister but you shouldnt waste your time with it. Go to Sfwoa and you get pretty much the same ride, but a walk on pretty much all the time this year. You should really go to Sfwoa after Cp if you all have passes, if not that's ok too. The trip should be a hit for you and your kids.

Ride Wicked Twister in the back seat, or if that lines long, go for the second to last row ( just as much rotation). Make sure you use free-way!

At CP, definitely use the freeway system for WT and MF. So far, this has worked out great for my husband and I. Have a good time!

I totally disagree with coastingohio on Wicked Twister - the ride is somehow incredibly different from Superman at WoA. Both are worth the wait, but I highly reccommend WT. And contrary to what everyone says, I really enjoy the front seat of WT as much as the back. You get that rush of speed, and you think you're going to shoot off the end of the track. The back seat was very disappointing on the initial launch, although straight down at the sand while twisting is very cool.
WT is absolutely NOT the same as S:UE...you can't really understand how different it is until you ride it. S:UE doesn't even make my top 20 coasters, while WT is currently residing at a tie for number 2 steelie with MF (behind Apollo).

Geez sorry, You like Apollo better than Mf? Just thought that was a little weird IMO. I'm not dissing you or anything I just thought Mf was overall a better ride.

MF is great for its speed and the drop is incredible - but I would say the two rides are tied. Apollo just does so much more than MF - so many more drops, a better restraint system (those Sweedish seatbelts on MF confused me so bad the first time ... ). Apollo is a better ride, MF is a better thrill

I have already rode MF and it IS my top coaster which is the primary reason for this trip..I'm obsessed with this ride.

I"ve been to SFWOA when it was just SFO and rode S:UE and it wasn't that great..I believe having a twist on both ends could contribute greatly to the ride experience..I ride EVERY coaster so I will ride this one too.

our last trip to PKI and CP was 2 years ago and we went on Sunday to PKI and CP on Monday..PKI was mild and the Beast and Top Gun were walk-ons in July.

CP was much busier because of MF..it was the opening year. The woman on the phone told us CP usually doesn't get "busy" until July and that going during the week helps because the crowds are less. Hopefully she is right because I cannot stand waiting in long lines in the heat..I have suffered heat stroke in the past at BGW where I went to lie down in our car for 3 HOURS while my hubby and my daughter rode everything..it wasnt a great experience :(.
