Help: Looking for Campgrounds in VA

I am thinking of heading to VA for two weekends, one at Kings Dominion and a second one at Busch Gardens Europe. I am looking to possibly lower the cost of the trip by camping. I was wondering if anyone had camped in the area before and could recommend a campground.

I will be using a tent but could have electric and water for some basic cooking/entertainment needs when am at the campsite.

I found a remarkable deal that NOBODY knows about while in Williamsburg. About a half mile past BGW is a little general store selling indian crafts and things. Behind it they have a small campground. In 97 it was five bucks and I even had electric and water hookups.

Don't know if it's still there. there was nothing mentioning campground. It's just a general store. about a mile past BGW on the left as your comming out of williamsburg toward BGW going south towards Norfolk

Thanks both for your help.

I kind of got the camping idea from your trip, Chuck. I'm seeing hotels rooms costing me from 300-500 for a Friday through Monday and I bet I can do it camping for under 200. *** Edited 7/8/2008 6:48:00 PM UTC by dragonoffrost***

Kings Dominion has a campground, and having stayed at it many times it is very cool place. Definitely recommended. There is also a free shuttle to the park.
