Doesn't anyone ever reading the freakin manual that comes with the game? For that matter does anyone use the freakin search feature of this site to find the million or so other times this question has been asked?

Sheesh!

Certain victory.

Ha! Not even so much searching the site, but RTFM!

It's amazing that they package a neat little guide with every purchase of the game that explains how to play the included software. Nice details on all the features and what they do. Reading instructions seems to be a lost art.

Whoa... about a 9 on the tension scale there, eh Kick? Holy rude and uncalled for, Batman! Why don't you knock back a couple cold ones to take the edge off before your head explodes.

Anyhoo...
Gazza; could you be more specific? From what you stated in your post, this seems like a very simple task, so maybe I'm not reading it right. But, from what I see:

Click the 'scenery' icon on the top of the screen. Click on the family of scenery objects (trees, or fountains, or park benches, etc), then click the object you with to use. Then click on a section of land, and VOILA! Scenery! Some objects can only be placed on flat land, and many others must be researched before they will even show up in the scenario you are on. Also be sure to clear out trees before placing large objects.

Kind Of Hard To Be More Specific, When I Downloaded A Few Files From This Site, I Noticed That The People Who Designed Them Had Placed "Glass

Wow. 4 posts (this makes 5) and he still hasn't received the answer he's after.

The "shift" key is your friend. :)

The placed "Glass?" Hmmmm... don't know about that one. Then again I haven't spent much time at all with RCT2.
When I see questions like this, I have a strong feeling that said person(s) do NOT have the retail version of the game. Perhaps they have instead gotten it from other (illegal) sources such as kazaa because this is such a simple thing to understand if you read the freaking manual.
Redman-
Good observation, you might be right. But I think his question is deeper than stated. Placing scenery isn't hard, with or without the manual. Shoot, when I first played RCT, I just jumped in without looking at the manual and didn't have any trouble playing; it's very user friendly and intuitive. Huh, how ironic-- it's user friendly and intuitive, yet it runs natively on Windows, and not on the Mac. Go figure.
To stack scenery on top of each other hold the shift key in.

Thanks,
DMC

man!

just aim the mouse at the suare where the scenery will be above, hold down the shift key, raise the pointer to the desired heigth, then click.

Thank you. At Least Some-one Finally Helped Me.

What? you mean the manual that tells you about the CTRL button that nobody knew about?

Hahahaha Ross, classic.

And Gazza, What Class Teaches You To Type Like This? 0_o

Seriously, I don't want to sound mean, but I understand when people type with horrible grammar to shorten phrases, such as u or r, but what advantage do you get Out Of Typing Like This? 0_o

Also, Kick The Sky gave you the answer in his first post. Read the freaking manual.

Gonch, you didn't really answer him. You really only openly admitted to making friends with the shift key. ;)

Ok, smartasses. :)

1. I never knew about the CTRL thing, but I never asked around for some tool to build horizontally on the same level. Big difference between never noticing a feature and asking about a feature which is covered in detail in the manual. Had I ever wondered if there were a way to do it, I'd have gone to the manual, not the boards.

2. I answered his question quite bluntly, Omar.

Original question: How Do You Add Scenery To Park Above Land Level?

My reply: The "shift" key is your friend.

That's about as answered as it gets. Plus it works on two levels because he capitalizes the first letter of every word in his posts.

I not only answered the question, but turned it into a little jab at the same time. Pure brilliance, if I do say so myself :)

Always an excuse isn't there Gonch ;)

Always a method to the madness...

Hmmmm, shall I add gasoline or water to the fire? I'll go with the latter.

Ok, you're brilliant. Congrats, and props for being able to take a joke. ;)

Also, Gonch made a point I was prepared to make if Ross came at me with that ctrl comment.

No one reads the manual without a question in mind. But if me/Gonch/KTS knew about that whole level thing, then we would've looked in the manual. It's common sense. This guy knew what he was looking for, and for some reason still came back here to ask us. No sense at all, not to mention he could've saved himself time and energy by reading a cute little book.

Also, on topic, if you increase the resolution of your game, you can put scenery objects higher. I believe the max is around 350 ft. or so, but I rarely go past 115 so don't trust me too much on that one.

And to whoever said he probably got a downloaded version, when you start up the game the manual is included in the disk. So all he had to do was explore the RCT2 file. *** Edited 12/27/2003 4:53:21 AM UTC by Omar***

Well I Know what to do in future if I dont want a ton of peeps telling me the same thing....all i wanted was one simple answer to save me looking it up and for the info of "one" person, i purchased my copy of rct2 from a store, yes a store (not from a market or something) and have a manual, just i never use them.....not a bright thing to do but my choice....
Hmmm, wouldn't it have been faster to just look it up, rather than wait for the smart ass remarks that you should have expected to see here. If you do not understand how to use hard copies, then a quick search here would have revealed your answer anyway.
