They owe the electric company 301k, and need to pay 150k by wednesday or the volts get shut off.

So who is Dana Watson and why does she want the park closed so badly? The land sale could have resolved the lions share of the debt and made it operable again. Who is financing her and how does this help return the land to the public and solvency. This reeks of bigger development goals than a paultry 3.3 acres. The electric company doesn't have much choice now. The infrastructure does look doomed now. The battle now looks to be over the land.

THAT WOULD BE COMING EASTWARD FROM OHIO, RIGHT?

Heh. Maybe that's GL's problem as well. ;)

(and wasn't some water park in that area closed recently as well...hmmm)

SO ACTUALLY SESAME PLACE WOULD BE METH USER CENTRAL.

Probably.

God, I hated Sesame Place. To this day, the only park that I've tried to get (and had) my admission refunded.

Gonch, I did take issue with Jeff's statement, because of the snobbish attitude I inferred toward rural, white people (who are probably blue-collar and Christian too). Since I fit in 3 of those 4 categories, I figure I can object to any stereotyped comment just as anyone else in here does when they're offended by comments toward whatever group(s) they identify with.

Fair enough. Never really said I disagreed, just that there's probably a nugget of truth to the area being labeled a hotbed for meth labs.

I'm not sure this was previously mentioned, but tokens can be purchased online now:

^^^ My parents took my brother and I to Sesame Place when we were very young, long before a coaster (Vapor Trail) was even part of the mix. I remember it was unreasonably hot that day and that we had to kill time before the park by going into a nearby mall because the park was full and they couldn't admit any more guests until a few had already left. Needless to say, we never went back.
Rob, admit it, it was 2 years ago. :)
Naw, two years ago was his trip to Shawnee Place. :)
Alright, you got me. Closet Ses'me Place addict in da howse.

If I had kids, I might be tempted to go back. Oh, what the hell, I'm tempted now. But it would have to be a good experience to erase the bad one that's still etched into my mind for some reason.

Millrace,

I clicked on that link...That Ripple Rock Park is amazing!!!! Is that HO scale?

I had HO scale trolley layout a long, long time ago (back when I lived at home at my mother's house, in the basement) ... sure wasn't as nice as that, though, and didnt have any rides :(

I do have an unbuilt HO scale double Sky Wheel still in a box somewhere, though.

Nice shots, nice work!

Thanks Cooch! Ripple Rock is a work in progress and right now it is in need of an expansion. The new Coasterdynamix woodie model will find a nice home soon. :)

I have the IHC skywheel but I'm not using it at the moment. I might incorporate it later on when I expand. It's one of the better IHC rides (although the base doesn't look realistic)

Ripple Rock sucks. The park claims parking is free (when in realty, it's parking that's included) and the park has no VIP or virtual queing options. What if I want to ride the Barl 'O Fun and not have to wait with the commonfolk? And talk about Meth Lab Central ;)
Meth Lab Central is kind of the effect I was going for. You're just jealous because you can't get your CD Comet to crest the second hill. ;)
At least my park has a wood coaster!
Robb and Millrace:

Maybe this site could your model parks.

This would make a nice Meth Lab.

Every time I visit the Hobbytown link, a different thing shows up. What were you referring to?
Buildings and stuff in HO scale.

Methlab link fixed. *** Edited 6/12/2007 8:13:04 PM UTC by FLYINGSCOOTER***

mllrace....OMG! Are the flyers custom or a kit? Awesome!

Long live the Big Bad Wolf

I never saw a meth lab so I'm not sure what one looks like. Nice little structure though.

Flyers are scratchbuilt. And they were a P.I.A. I might add.

The owner gets majorly pissed when someone tries to snap those flyers.

I also heard this place doesn't have a single corporate partnership. What a dive. Hmmmph.
