ok so i was on a class trip to canada. we were in new york, getting close to niagra kinda in the buffalo area. we passed over the big bridge over the tonawanda. all of a sudden we passed a huge wood coaster that kinda looked like roar and a wild mouse that didnt look like the traditional mad mouse clone(layout wise). there were also many flat rides i could see for those few seconds. i know this wasn't sfdl, b/c i didn't see superman. i looked in the park directory but i didn't find anything similar to the coasters. it may of been martin's playland. although there wasn't steel supports on the woody. but there might of been, b/c i only saw the park for ABOOT 8 sec. that mad mouse might of been a swarzkopf(sp?). regardless, could someone tell me what park it is.
It could have been Martain Fansty Island(sp?).
yeah the silver comet I think it is, which is a CCI design. And you passed over the Niagara river no Tonowanda. There is a Tonawanda creek but it is small and nowhere near Grand island(which is where Martin's Fantasy island is)
Yeah, it was Martin's Fantasy Island. They added the Silver Comet last year and marketed it on both sides of the border as a sort of "tribute" to the legendary Crystal Beach Comet (Crystal Beach is a park in that area that closed back in the '80s). The odd thing is that you can still ride the old CB Comet, you just have to go to the Great Escape in Lake George, New York, where they rebuilt it piece-by-piece, and is now regarded by many aficionados as the best coaster in the world. But I digress. I rode the Silver Comet last year, and found it to be quite enjoyable, albeit a bit brief. The park itself is small, but clean and green, with little touches like a small lake where you can take a lap in a canoe, which I thought were cool.
