Heh, Wipeout at Knott's is deadly

I learned last week from experience.  Anybody else ridden this thing with someone weighing over 200 lbs and you being on the outside seat?  Truly one of the most painful and hilarious moments of my life.  Not to mention that they must have been running that thing on the spin wash mode.  The ride op's were cracking up.  :)

Well?  Any interesting experiences with heavier people on this or other flat rides of this nature?

ravenguy, i KNOW what you mean man!!  i rode the Skydiver at the VA State Fair a few years ago, which is this crazy ferriswheel that you can flip the car on its axis while going around.  i got on with this huge guy, and for some reason, even though he was heavier, the stupid car kept flipping onto my side, and he would come CRASHING on me!!  altough, i wasnt really laughing, hehe   oh yeah....and on Rodeo at SFA this summer, my friend Justin, who is much bigger than i, rode on the inside, and he was constantly being slammed into me....yeah, good times...

Hmm, these stories remind me of a time I went with one of my friends a few weeks ago to Knott's we were the only two people on Wipeout, and the ride-op asked if we wanted to get spun around for awhile.  We said ok and she just let the thing spin flat on the ground for about 5 min.  It was the best! We wear getting slammed into each other or the wall, oh man what a rush it was, then she asked if we had enough, I said no! Keep it coming, so we spun flat for about another 3-4 minutes, as we screamed and yelled throuhgout the process, getting some strange looks from the few people that were there (oh btw this was a weekday).  Then some people got in line and we disembarked from Wipeout. That was probably the best time I had on Wipeout too.

Nope... theres nothing worse than being at the entrance end of a music express seat with several people in the car with you.

I was about to say, I wouldn't limit the experience to just Wipeouts. The worst is when you get some psycho carnie at the local fair who at least appears to be running the thing faster than manufacturer recommendations!

I rode with my cousin who probably weighed 120lbs. I don't even want to imagin what Ravenguy98 went through.
I had the same experience on wipeout a few days ago...
Of course, I was with someone who weighed a lot less than me.  It almost feels as if they are going to A. Crush you, and B.Push you right out of the car
I had the same experience with the ride ops there.  Very cool!

Well I did learn something from wipeout, now I know how my clothes feel in the dryer!

If you're riding with someone who is heavier than you and you're not smart enough to put the heavier person in the outside seat, you deserve to be crushed... :)

Two people in an Enterprise tub can get a little painful, regardless of where the heavier person sits!

These types of rides are great for first dates :)

everything's better with a banjo

The thing is, I weigh about 30 lbs more than the other guy so we were seated correctly.  I got the offensive lineman build going on.  I suppose only ride wipeout with little kids!

Im not sure what type of ride that is,but it sounds like a himilaya type spin ride? i know every time i go on those rides i sit alone and my freinds agree to sit alone themselves.Beecuase there just too painfull if you have like 2 or 3 to a car and one weighs like 200pounds and there ontop of you the entire ride! that happened to me once when i was like 14 and i rode some ride with a freind and we sat together and before you know it i was hanging out the side of the ride crying for the ride to stop!
Its a spinning  ride, and a himalaya would give you the same effect.

I rode Wipeout this past weekend for the first time in a while. Great ride, but I don't understand the no single riders policy Knott's enforces on it. In fact, I specifically remember riding it by myself before but this time I wasn't able to. My poor, poor friend got crushed by me during the final wash cycle...

Does anyone know why the policy was changed, or is this typical for these rides?

the "no single riders" policy has to do with Chance rides Inc. They really mean its for smaller riders (children) and to have someone else sit next to them so they don't slide out and around, sice there are no seat dividers. You will find this rule enforced at parks nationwide, and on Zippers as well at carnivals. The two per seat rule on many of the Chance rides isn't rare.

Rides like Chaos and Thunderbolt do not use them, but the Wipeout and Falling Star do as well.
I havent seen this rule on the Trabant, but I have on the Casino's (which is exactly the same ride)
