"Health Scare" at CP - CoasterBuzz

One of the teasers for the 11:00 news (KDKA-TV) here in Pittsburgh last night was, "Health scare at Cedar Point!!!!!".

Well they got my attention. After the second comercial break they finally got to the "Big" story. One employee at CP has contracted meningitis. Talk about blowing things out of proportion. Maybe Kennywood (or WOA) paid them to run this story.

Actually, menangitis is a big story. I have lost two friends to this specific form of the disease. It is nothing to take lightly and anytime a case pops up, the media jumps on it. There were three kids a couple of years ago at Ohio schools that died of the disease and it was a media frenzy.

To put some fears to rest, you would have to share his toothbrush or be intimate with him in order to be real concerned. I am sure they are testing or treating his room mates, significant other, and possibly those he works with.

Exactly! It's a concern for those close to this person. It is not a reason to scare people away from the park. It is not a major news story.

This is not a big deal, and the local health department has said that (see news section).
