DISCLAIMER--I am in no way codoning the following, but I just wanted to ask this question.
When I go to a park, ever once and a while I think about something I don't deem normal. While in the loading station for a coaster, I see the brakes and other mechanisms on the track. There is always something in the back of my mind that thinks it would be cool to jump down onto the track. Then I think what it would be like getting hit by an incoming train.
I don't know if this is some kind of fear I have or just one of those thoughts you'd never want to act upon.
Has anyone ever thought about this before or am I just messed up?
I would go with messed up. If you would do this they would have to close the ride and people like us couldn't ride it.
I have thought of this before too :)
I don't understand it, but on some coasters (ie Whizzer) where there is a tire that helps push the coaster out, I just want to touch it. :)

I know, kcies, and then whenever I think about doing it, I freak out and think of how stupid it would be to do something like that.
Hmm. Your're not alone. I think I've pondered such before. I guess everybody has a bit of weirdness inside them. Or the inquisitive mind to wonder what it feels like for a 10 ton vehicle on rails to run over you.
LOL! At least I'm not alone in my twisted thinking. I figured it wasn't just me, but I couldn't be sure until I asked. :)
Sometimes when going up a lift hill I tend to think about the train stopping and rolling back into the station.

(adding to Iron)...as long as there's not a train in the station, I'd love to ride the coaster backwards. The only roll backs I've ever been on were OL:FOF(my first shuttle loop ;)) and on Mind Eraser at SFO.

I got the "jumping in front of a coater train" feeling out of my system when I was run over by a pick-up truck. It wasn't all that great so I would advise not giving into such urges!
Anyway,
I think its human nature to think about those things. Anybody ever feel the need to suddenly pull the parking brake on your car while going 60 down the highway? Or throw your keys out the window? Or throw the gear shift into reverse at speed?
LOL on that last post, man, that was funny.
Pulling a parking brake on a car usually locks the back wheels up. Some people actually use do this if their front brakes are bad.
I never want to jump into the track area, I just look at the brakes and wonder how the metal fins line up with the pads, and how fast the pads wear out. Then I wonder what happens if the metal fin doesn't line up with the pads. It always does, but it's such a tiny slot to fit in.
Maybe you should become a ride mechanic if want to jump onto the tracks.
Or when you're on top of a VERY high building you just want to jump off??
Or maybe that's just me :)

I thought about doing that also

Best Coaster: Millennium Force
Worst Coaster: Project Stealth
If waiting for the last row on Raptor, the ride and lift stop buttons are in very close range. Althoughit was always in the back of my head, I always thought what would happen if I pressed it. Then I realized it would really blow for everybody, riding and waiting if I pressed that button. Of course, I am more worried about some idiot pressing it on purpose or by accident.
