Have people been traveling less than in past years?

I've noticed this summer that there haven't been a whole lot of trip reports posted. Are enthusiasts not traveling due to: a) lack of new rides, hence waiting for next year b) the price of gas really did factor into some peoples trip decisions c) the high temperatures have been a deterent or d) people have stopped writing trip reports
I haven't been travelling much saving up for my 2 week trip that kicks off next Friday. Mostly I have done, day photo excursions to SFGAdv, Dorney and SFA. Last weekend, I did hit PKD and am working on my report.

Watch the tram car please....

I've been travelling more.
I haven't been doing much traveling the past couple of years. But it's not due to global events, the heat, fuel costs or anything of the sort. I haven't been going to other parks as much because of my little girl. She's not big enough forthe kiddie rides yet, next year we'll be able to take her to some parks - including Holiday World.

I have been traveling just as much as ever, but not to parks. I've been visiting family and seeing the non-coaster parts of the country. :)

I've been travelling the most ever, I just don't post TRs. So far I've been to PKI, CP, MFI.. next week I will hit SFDL, Seabreeze, Michigan's Adventure. Then on August 14, the excursion kids off with Knoebel's, Dorney, Hershey, William's Grove, PKD, BGW, BGT, IOA, USF.

So yeah, I'm travelling more.

2005 visited: PCW, PKI, CP, MFI, MIA, Knoebel's, Dorney, Hershey, PKD, BGW, USF, IOA, BGT 2006 planned: Holiday World, Kennywood, Indiana Beach, SFKK, Lake Compounce, SFNE, La Ronde, Hershey, SFGAd. and more!
I've done 16 different parks this year, as well as a few repeats to our home park. That's about on track for a "normal" year.

The gas prices don't matter much - you only go around once, ya know. I figure do it while you can.

And trip reports are something I've rarely done. I've got better things to do than typing a 3 page essay that includes what we had for breakfast.

I've done virtually no traveling to parks.
ith only 3 half days at Geauga Lake, 2 at Cedar Point, a Holiday World trip with SF St Louis. But thats it!

I bought a house in March, and am getting hitched in September, so now, Im just a little on the busy side.

Plus I still need to go see Star Wars yet

I've been travelling all over the place, but I have not been posting here. My reports can be found here.

I have travelled quite a bit this year, but it's been very selective. I haven't been out of town since July 4th weekend.

Money has been the main issue.

I prefer NOT to travel in the middle of summer (with a few exceptions) as I don't like extreme heat and crowds. I do most of my travelling in the Spring and Fall.

Yeah, gas prices suck, but what are you going to do? :-)

This season has been great so far. FIrst ever trips to SFOG, Carowinds, Kennywood and HersheyPark, with a Vegas and Albuquerque(Cliff's!)trip happening in late August. Of course I hit CP as often as possible, which this season is averaging 3 times a month or so. I'm also looking forward to ST at Michigan's Adventure in August since I wasn't able to make that trip last season at all. I guess I should post more Trip Reports, but I'm such a lazy sod. ;)

The $25K+ "party" I'm hosting in October has pretty much cooled down any burning desires for parks. However, I will be going to the house of mouse soon there after.

I predict next year will demonstrate a return to normalcy, with trips to Hershey, CP, SFGAm, BGW, and HW already being contemplated! :)

I've cut back a bit so far, but that's because I'm going to Japan in 3 weeks...

I've put more miles on my cars this year than any year, but I also bought a car in Chicago, and drove it home. I've also enjoyed said vehicle all over the state of Washington. ;)

As for parks, I haven't done much, but I've been busy. I will be going to the "new SRM" though, and I would like to go to PPP. I will be in New Orleans in late September as well. That might very well be 3 weekends in a row at some kind of park. :):):)

So far, I've just been to my usual parks, HP, KG, and DP. Riding SR, LR and Phoenix is something one can easily do more than one time. Writing about riding them more than one time is another story. Reading more than once about someone riding them more than one time... I don't even want to read my own, let alone expect someone else to do it.
Last year was my "slow year." This year I've picked it up a bit. Next year will be a pretty big year, though.
I've traveled more this year and discovered I have a back staber at work stabing me in the back while I'm gone. So I've cut back a little bit and will try a different approach next season. Still have a trip to Great Adventure scheduled for the end of August and I'm considering my first trip to an enthusiast/Coasterbuzz event and first trip to Holiday World at the beginning of October.

A day at the park is what you make it!
