Has X been reliably open?

I rode it the first day it was open and unfortunately haven't had a chance to go back there yet until now......has X been operating smoothly...or is it closed a lot? Please tell me all you know.
Hmmm.. let's see, if you count two chassis breaking in half after only 50 test cycles, the mechanical engineers designing the vehicle quitting before the first test run, and the fact that sixflags has hired an eingineer specifically to address the problems ...I guess you can say its pretty reliable.

The chasis didnt break in half, they developed stress fractures. That could have led them to breaking in half, but the problem was fixed before it could. Also, the engineers didnt just "quit." They stopped in order to meet the deadline, and they had assumed that everything had been taken care of.

Intelligence is a God given gift: Know how to use it.

It broke down often when I went, but I don't think it was anything serious. I really want to ride i, I didn't get to. But I think it might be better for everyone once the next 4d is released, then hopefully it won't have the prototype bugs this one has.
If the next 4-D is released.

Coasterkrazy,

You should'nt comment on thing you know nothing about, or maybe you are trying to distort the facts because you have a vested interest, but the facts remain.

There were two crashes during the testing, The first crash involved a complete separation of the verticle support tube(3/16 wall) at the upper connection resulting in the vehicles crashing into the ready brakes causing a lot of damage, 120 lbs of reinforcing plates were then added (per chassis). The second involved the melt down of the nylon wheels on the 3rd wheelcarrier and it crashed into the station, this chassis was shipped back to Arrow for replacement. Also what an idiotic statement "they stopped in order to meet the deadline" who are you trying to fool? yeah, right Both engineers quit Arrow to make the deadline? hey maybe your name does fit you!

SO much to prove;).

Anyways, when's the last time it ran? I had a dream last week that we were riding SOMETHING like a 4D, only it was a backwards ride........

Bob,

It really Irks me when people deliberately distort the facts. Is there anything else you guys would like to know?

coasterdummie,

I wasnt saying you were right or wrong. I was just saying that you really shouldnt be saying someone fits their name when they can come around and say the same about you. That is all. I was just pointing out that you were leaving yourself wide open. :)

Right bob,

And I think I am a CoasterDummie, I have worked in the coaster industry for 10 years, I think the X is a great ride, but it is a prototype.

Hmmmmmm.......Thanks guys...but that still didn't answer my question. I remember very well the hell that X went through before opening.....what I want to know is .....maybe I should rephrase this....ok...If I go to SFMM ,say....next week.....will I be more likely to find a operating X when I get there...or a "not running today" X? In other words, has X had a lot of down time since it opened to the public?
X is currently closed and has been closed for the past two weeks. X's trains developed stress fractures and are on a little "vacation" in Utah getting worked on. SFMM was trying for a Memorial Day reopening, however, it looks like it won't be until early summer that X will reopen.
