Has Wicked Twister been operating?

I have seen quite a few posts that says that Wicked Twister was down for the day during their visit. Has it been running recently? I am going there next week. I am hoping that it's up and running.
Yes it has been running. I was at the park for 3 days (8/3-8/5) and it was running all three days.
I heard its running ona difrent program, and that it only gos 3/4ths a way up the towers, dose that affect the ride exsperance alot, and is that along way up the towers, or only like 4feet short ?

First of all, I think my 7 year-old sister uses better grammar and punctuation than you. Secondly, to solve your problem:

Wicked Twister is 215 feet high. 215x3/4 is roughly 162 feet. So that means it will not go up the top 53 feet (roughly), not four. Learn to multiply!

I got kicked off, but I'm back!

Even when operating at full strength, the ride didn't make it within four feet from the plunger at the top. But I don't think it is coming up 53 feet short now. Probably somewhere in between. :)

From what I saw during my visits, the ride comes far from even coming close to the very top. There was about a distance of at least 30 feet from the top of the spire to the tip of the train (at maximum speed).

I know, but 53 feet seemed a little bit excessive to me. And I know even when it was running at full strength, it didn't come within 4 feet of the top! :) I don't think I'd argue with the 25-30 foot figure...

I was at the park on 8-6, and it was down for the entire day. I could see two maintenance guys working on the front spike for most of the morning/early afternoon.
It was open all day on 8-7-02
Thank God I rode it when it was at full strength back in May. :)
To put it simply, the train doesn't go past the maintence platform on the 1st launch forward & backward. The 2nd time forward and backward, about 1/2 to 3/4 of the train goes past it, and on the last one forward, it only makes it to the platform again.

If you don'tt hink about it and just have fun, the ride is still just as good.

All 5 times I've been to the point this year it has run all day without breaking down when I was in line.

(Also has the best crew for a shuttle coaster I have ever seen)

How close to the top of the spike did it go when it first opened, and when it was running the best? I just wanted to make sure that it has been running. I'll sit in the back or front seat.

If you look over at Guide to the Point (http://www.guidetothepoint.com), there is an off-ride video in the Wicked Twister section of the Gallery that shows how the ride ran on media day, opening day, and all of May (when it was running of course).

How tall atr the other impulse coasters and how high does the train get on those? One starts to wonder why spend the extra money to make it bigger if it doesn't end up going much higher

Aughhh look out there are Mice all around

Wicked Twister : 215'

Superman Ultimate Escape, V2, Screaming Condor : 185'

Well, Wicked Twister was built to a greater height mostly in part because the rolling stock size was increased slightly to allow for better capacity than the previous Impulse coasters.

With that added on, you're bound to go a little higher despite WT originally set to go only 2 miles per hour faster (which it isn't anymore due to the stress) than the last generation Impulse coasters.

It opened late 8-6, and operated pretty much the entire day yesterday (8-9). Great ride. :) The twist on the back spike is really nice in the last row. Surprisingly, we only waited 25 minutes for it yesterday. (around 8 o'clock)

Thank You for challenging TOS: The Ride. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day, here at SFCB.

Where's Screaming Condor?
