I'll be frank... the results of the metalurgic tests (or whatever they're doing) haven't come back yet.

As of March 2nd the other two towers are still upright. (Went to the park for some picture taking, and also for dinner at Bay Harbor Inn.... Yum) Also like Jeff said, the test results haven't been released yet.
It has nothing at all to do with metallurgic tests. Something completely different and something that only Cedar Point would have to worry about. (This coming straight from Stan's mouth.)
Check out Westcoaster.net's Winter Coaster Solace Update to find out what I mean. Its slightly compicated, but it is explained nicely on the site.

Okay, that makes sense. But, if this was an isolated problem at Cedar Point, why have the others been closed and why have future installations been put on hold?

That was basically what I was getting at, but didn't want to have to explain.
Thanks Chris Senn.
However, I very strongly disagree with the notion that all VertiGO rides are being torn down. I don't have any good evidence to point in either direction, except that Stan said he wanted to fix Cedar Point's ride and go back to buisness.

Crack kills. :)
Anyway, I don't doubt that everything Stan says is true. I also don't doubt that Cedar Point, knowing their extreme lean toward caution, will see what the tests they conducted show. At the end of the day, they're the ones who have to decide whether or not to put people on the ride.

How can Stan say that the relationship between his company and Cedar Fair is shattered when he's speaking at a Cedar Fair park lol?
I don't know if "shattered" is the word I would use, but I am sure the relationship is quite strained at the moment. Just as Intamin's was over Perilous Plunge. Stan did say he felt really bad as it's Cedar Fair's reputation on the line. That's the really strange thing about this business. In any other industry you would sue someone and move on to different suppliers. But because the amusment industry is relatively small, and because you never know what future ride you may want from a company, not to mention the servicing of your existing rides, bridges are rarely burned. So Cedar Fair maintains working relationships with these suppliers even though they may be less then happy with them at the moment. The exception to this is Togo which I guess Cedar Fair is not planning to ever buy from again. :)
