Personally, I think what PGA has added this year is great, but I don't think they will beat out SFMW in 2001. Yes, PGA has brought in 15 new rides and attractions, but SFMW's V2 can beat that out easily when it opens on June 9. I really believe that PGA should've added one new thrill ride for 2001. That might hurt them when the season is done and the figures for 2001 are out.
I don't think it's ever a matter of any park trying to "beat" another one. It's not a contest. Burger Kings and McDonalds exist all over the world right across the street from each other, and while one undoubtedly generates more business, they all seem to stay in business. The same is true for neighboring parks.

At the rate SFMW is going, they will easily beat PGA out in a few years. Do you think that SFMW will add 1-2 good coasters every year though? If they do, PGA has to pick up the pace a little and give us what we all want, roller coasters!
That's true Jeff, but parks are very expensive. If most of the business is pulled away to a neighboring park, their business will also be dwindling, which means they won't make as much money. Introducing good, and new rides every year makes sure they keep on top of the competition.
My personal opinion (and its just my opinion), is that Paramount should have kept the Marriott charm because that is what alot of people related to at that park. By tearing out most of the original concept of the park kind of puts a bad taste in peoples mouths. The clincher had to have been removing the original train ride that circles the park. I mean, come on!! Why would you remove a ride like that? It just sounds like they got desparate by adding 15 new attractions in 1 season.
