Has Anyone rode the Comet @ the Great Escape

If you have ridden the Comet tell me what you thought of it.
I rode Comet this year for my first time(s).  Two separate visits.  About 15 rides total.  For me, I just remember "RR" which means Red train, Rear...gave me the most joy.

It became one of my top five woodies.  Is similar to Phoenix in overall enjoyment, but can't match the airtime (what can?).   Phoenix is my #1 woodie.

One caution: Comet has some great (intense) laterals.  It could hurt 'ya if you are out of your seat and hit one of 'em.  I recommend holding on for your first ride so you won't get caught off guard.  After that, you will know when they hit (I won't tell you...you won't miss them).

The accelerating lift is a great feature...especially in the back as you can imagine.  You really get pulled (yanked) over into its great first drop.

If you are a woodie fan, you will enjoy it.

I rode it about 2 weeks ago. It was pretty tame in either the front or the back. The blue train seemed to be running a little faster than the red. I hope this isn't your only reason for going to that area because the park is pretty week. The other coasters are well...they aren't good. If you have a SF season pass then at least it will be free. Be sure to check out some of the rest of the area. Lake George is beautiful and a much better reason to travel than the Comet. Go to GE early ride the Comet and then get out on the lake. Just my 5 cents...inflation you know.

Paramount Carowinds: Forgotten but not Gone
I been to Great Escape two times and if you are going just to ride the Comet, dont. It is a good ride but it isnt IMO worth going up there just to ride it,and seeing how the other coasters arnt worth it either, I wouldnt make a long drive just to go there.
