Has anyone floated a quarter on Power Tower!

While dangling on Power Tower at Cedar Point as anyone, put a quarter on there knee to see if it stays afloat!
Just make sure it doesn't fall off...

Well, I tried and it doesn't work. Here's why:

Contrary to popular beleif, PowerTower isn't a freefall ride...it has a controlled decent which is faster than freefall. The result, an object held out at the top will fall slower than you will, strapped into the car. Moral of this story is, make sure you hold your arm wayyyy out because otherwise, that quarter is gonna hit you on it's way down and you'll be on the upward bounce and it'll hurt. Don't try, it won't work...

I was able to do that on the Pitt Fall at Kennywood. It floated for a second, then flew to the side, and fell onto the netting above the queue.
You all DO realize that this is dangerous to the people below you, right? What if that were to hit someone below. Yes, there's netting there, for this very reason, but still... File this under "irresponsible rider behavior"

Besides, why waste a perfectly good quarter that's better spent in the arcade?
