Has Anyone Ever Walked The Track Of A Rollercoaste

I always wanted to walk the track of the Mean Streak at Cedar Point. I think it would just be so awesome to walk the entire ride! Going up and down the hills, around the turns, and inspecting the lift hill. That would be just so awesome!
I have a picture of some MF workers who were fooling around standing in the middle of the first drop like it was a ladder. That's not really walking the tracks though, just stupidity.

They were probably on support cables, so that is why they were probably fooling around. Just some "fun" with co-workers. What's wrong with that? Ya, im sure that "they" wouldn't work on coaster without a support cable. Now that is stuipd.

Your name gave it away! :) I've walked up the first lift hill, down the second & on the elevated emergency platform on the Demon (Boomerang) at my home park.
Wild Cat at Dade county fair. (Car got stuck at top, had to walk down.

Where'd you come from, Where'd you go, Where'd you come from old man Joe.
Ummm. I can walk the track of Blue Streak at Conneuat anytime I want. My aunt knows the owner and she was going to buy the park. But The park is on the edge of going bankrupt. So she decided to hold it off to see what happens. I told her, to buy it and if it went out of buisneess, let me have Blue Streaks cars and a piece of track!

And I am dead serious about this. Now the thing about taking the cars I just made up. But She Was going to buy it. And I think she did, I have to talk to her. And If you dont believe me, She let her son put his own museum up there. Its a animal bone museum. I wouldnt lie about this. So dont think im lieing....

StealthmF5m3, I think I got the pics from this thread at GTTP, http://www.guidetothepoint.com/thepoint/cpplace/thread.asp?ForumID=2&TopicID=1369
although the domain is now gone for the pics. As you can see from reading, the workers were fooling around on it. I have the picture if you want I'll email it. It looks though like they were just climbing on it a little, it's kind of easy to anyways because of Intamin box track.

Roar at SFMW. Never got to ride it, but got to spend 30 minutes climbing to the top of lift and shooting pictures up there. You could feel the structure sway with the tiniest movement; freaky!
SFWoA X115,
is Conneaut really in that bead of a shape? I'd better hurry and go there before anything happens. I read that the park is publicly owned though. So why would it go bankrupt?

Edit: I want to walk the track of RWB and see if I fall off the overbanked turns :)

I have, the coasters I've worked. I will say the best type of coaster to trackwalk is a bobsled coaster (my baby - Disaster Transport) since you actually do walk IN the track, from the end of the ride all the way backwards to the top of the lift. Totally unforgettable! Other coasters you don't typically walk the track itself, only to general areas that may have problems (brakes), and you check visually along the entire thing to see that there is no debris or other obstruction.

Conneaut is in need of money. One of thier rides needs a $40,000 dollar part that they cant afford. And Blue streak needs some work!

I've walked the ground of Millennium Force, including the island. But the real thrill is on the lift, and I'm certain you'll be seeing some unique video of that next week on Discovery.

I walked over the Legend. Train got stuck so I had to walk across the track in the station;)

walking the Beast would be neat, but walking on the spine of an inverted would be neat (with safety line, of course)

I walked the coaster at the defunct Chippewa Lake.  It was all rotted and I problaby shouldn't have been walking on it but it was worth it.  I got some good pics of it I just gotta get the time and energy to scan them.

I walk that track all the time, Makes me cry just being in that park. I'm 15 minutes away from it. We have plenty of pictures, enough to start a website. It's in such bad shape now, it makes me sad. All the locals are more than happy to talk to you about it, though.

On a side note, last time we were there, we were on our way out, walking through the weeds and we saw a man with a blue shirt on that had some yellow, and a blue hat with a yellow star, we thought "UH-OH, Police!" and we started to get scared. turns out it was a local man on his way to go fishing. He stopped and was asking US some questions on what we knew about the history of the park. Turns out he used to Lifeguard there.

That's my story and i'm stickin' to it!
