Get this...

I met Walter at the opening of Great Adventure's Batman:the Ride, and we spoke for a few mins...what did we speak about?  The possibility of a Laydown Flying Coaster!  He spoke about how they have looked at that, but that the loading is a BIG issue, and they wouldn't build a low capacity ride.

The first time I met Claude, was the opening of Montu, he had apparently gone back to check out Kumba, and was on his way back toward the Egypt area, we stopped and spoke, we all put on our ray ban sunglasses, and told him that all the way driving from VA we told people we were "On a mission From Claude" (a take off on the Blues Brothers "Mission from God" ) He laughed and Punched me in the shoulder.

I have an alpengeist hat autographed by both

Ran into Claude most recently at the opening of Top Gun at Carowinds.

For those who might not know one from the other

Claude is funny and goofy

Walter is quiet and reserved

Nuts For Coasters Since 1969

I've seen photos of them. One of Walter sitting on an Alpengiest train & he has a red/brown mustache & hair. And another of Claude surrounded by fans in front of Apollo (I think.) He wears glasses & there is another pic of him in front of Nemesis' final Wingover.

I've totally forgotten the links to these pics. Anyone?

LOL, anybody have a website with a picture of them?
I saw one of them the night before Nitro opened to the public.  The park had a preview night and Nitro, along with a few other rides, were running.  As I ran up the Staircase I saw Claude on the far side near the control booth.  It was really cool if you ask me.
I talked with Claude for like an hour at the NITRO press release.  He was really cool and layed back.  He answered all of our questions and their coasters and things like that.

Yes...I met them while they were building the Vortex at Great America. I don't know if it was because they were on site or not, but construction and testing seemed to go really smooth for what was a new type of ride at the time. And yes, nice guys.

I'm surprised Flaharty hasn't related his story about meeting Walter Bolliger just yet....

If you bump into Sean, ask him what he thinks about caramel popcorn........... :)

Hey, Sean is the sexiest guy on RRC...that is, before I came on.  We'll see who it is next year!  LOL!

Anyways, I met Claude on SFGAdv opening day this past year.  I ran to Nitro and noticed hium sitting in the third row.  Naturally, I rode in the front the first time.  I walked around and got back in line and when I got back into the front row for another ride, he was standing next to the ontrol booth.  There was an open seat right next to me in the front and while I ws sitting there, laude just hopped into it!  I almost had a heart attack!  Anyways, we talke going up the lift hill, enjoyed the ride, and said farewell, for I was off to Batman.

Yes, I met both of them at the Nitro First Blast thing.  It was early in the morning on April 6th, and I even got to ride Nitro in the row in front of one of them, not sure which. But I did shake hands and stuff with them, it was really cool. They rode Nitro with legs and arms outstretched!
