Has any Cp'ers stayed at ......

Has anyone who's made the trek to Cedar Point happened to stay at the Microtel Inn & Suites Huron/Cedar Point. I'm making my way back up north to get a ride on TTD in two weeks and Breakers Express is booked up in the non-smoking dept, and quite honestly I can't swallow the $250 a night rate of Hotel Breakers (sorry... NOTHING is worth that much money for a bed to sleep in!! sheesh!).

So i've looked on Expedia and found the Microtel joint along with a couple of (un)Comfort Inns and a few others. Can anyone make a suggestion??

Thanks in advance!

Also I think a hotel listing with user ratings of each hotel would make a great addition to the park lists on Coasterbuzz or even Guidetothepoint!

I stayed there last year between C-Mania and CBuzz con. Only time I have ever stayed near the point as I only live 90 mins away. The motel was very nice.

Microtel's are extremely nice no matter where they are. This one was no exception.

This is the one on Rye Beach Rd. right?

If given the choice I'd choose a hamburger over a hotdog anyday of the week.

I stayed at the Ramada South for about $50/night. It was very clean and a nice room.
The sleep in right down the road from the Point was very nice. Plenty of donuts for breakfast. Hehe.
Here's a tip if you reserve a hotel and you go to your room and its not clean enough, go to the hotel office with your B!tch face on and tell them they better get house keeping to your room asap and clean it and stay and watch them. It's amazing once you complain how nice your room will become and how nice the staff will become. I learned that as a kid near Kings Island grandma walked into the room and then marched right out and down to the office to complain. Sometimes if you complain enough you can get a discount. Because even in the nicest hotels a room may be over looked by a retarded house keeper, this goes for even the dumpiest ones.

And good luck with TTD, I must be the most unluckiest person ever, as soon as I get in line the damn thing is down for atleast 2 + hours, needless to say I've been going to CP every friday and have only had enough patience to tuff the wait out once.

Hey guys thanks for the info. I went ahead and booked a *gasp* smoking room at Breakers Express and got on the list for a non-smoking in case there's someone who doesn't make it, plus I figure even if it's a smoking room, Cedar Point usually keeps their hotels in tip-top shape so maybe the smell won't be sooo bad as say a smoking room at travelodge *YIKES!!!*.

What was I supposed to put here again?!?!

Microtel Inn is my hotel chain of choice,

Microtel Huron is clean and is rather newly built.

It has a pool, cable TV and a continental breakfast

that is free. I am planning to stay there every year

to visit the point.

My friends and I (about 6 of us total) are planning a trip to CP in October (October 17-19 in fact). We would like one of those big suits that fits everyone in one room. Right now we have only found RodeWay Inn North (formerly Friendship Inn or something like that). It doesnt look to bad in the picutres, but I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed there and what they thought about it.

Any advice on thise hotel or others would be much appreciated. Information Ariving on Oct 17. Day at CP the 18th. Leaving the 19th. and remember 6 adults so there has to be plenty of beds or couches or something!
