Harry Potter: The Ride?

I just read that WB owns the rights to the Harry Potter characters. Anybody know if Six Flags or another group has control over Harry Potter, amusement park wise?

Quidditch: the Ride! Actually that would be a great theme for dueling inverts!

Come to think of it, there's a ton of stuff in the Potter books that would be great for coaster theming: flying brooms, flying cars, flying dragons, flying motorcycles...

But the ABSOLUTE BEST scene that could have been used to theme a coaster (the Gringots cart) got all but cut from the film.

Dave, you are right, I was looking forward to that scene in the movie.

I'm still wondering why no one has made a double-tracked mine train themed to "The Temple of Doom," with lava and cave tunnels and such.

They all ready do. It's called Adventure Express and it's at a little park known as PKI. Even though the ride isn't double tracked. :)

Adventure Express is lame. Here's what I imagine for a good "Doom" ride based on the movie:

Two trains, running side by side. Both start with a good, steep twisting drop like in the movie. The tracks would criss-cross to simulate the switches. At some point the tracks would race side by side, with one track partially on top of and higher than the other. There would be a huge room filled with glowing red "lava" far below, then the trains would zoom into twin tunnels. There could be some sort of water effect to simulate the flood, then the trains would burst outside into the sunshine to "escape."

Aw, c'mon. Where's the love? Adventure Express is the best mine ride outside of a Disney park.

Adventure Express has cool theming, but as far as the ride goes, I like Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Gold Rusher better (the only other two mine trains I've ridden). CCMR is the best; at least it has one good drop and a fast helix.
