Hard hat tour reveals X-Flight trains to adrenaline junkies

It was gorgeous, it was windy, it was muddy, and it was completely worth it. Six Flags Worlds of Adventure gave members of coaster clubs a great chance to get up close and personal with the park's new Flying Dutchman. The park also revealed a sneak peak at the trains for the coaster as well as the addition of three flat rides to a planned boardwalk themed area between the former Sea World and the existing "Wild Rides" portion of Six Flags.

You can come along with us as we get all muddied up and educated on the doings with X-Flight and the rest of the park, including the first (to my knowledge at least) available pictures of the coaster's simply awesome looking trains.

X-Flight will be ready by opening day. Tom said that they are right on schedule with the project. As for the flat rides, they will open approx. June 1st. BTW- for last year's season pass holders, El Dorado was SEEN running earlier this week and is expected to be open May 5.
Skatestreet, originally the casino appeared at this park as the trabant. It was rethemed to look like a roulette wheel. It is a ride that goes round in circles then it raises on a arm that is rotating to opposite direction.

•Yes, the swinging ship is "new"
•The rotor is the ride which you stand up on it, it spins and the force glues you to the wall, and the floor drops out
•The Trabant was removed and sold, the Casino was NEW in 1991.

Flat ride removal status at SFO in the past 2 years:
Tilt-A-Whirl: sent to Wyandot Lake
Casino: Removed for 2000, returning 2001
Scrambler: Removed for 2000, returning 2001
Spider: Removed and replaced 2000 season
Flying Scooters: Removed
Rotor: Removed (rumored to return a Washing-machine themed ride in 1950;s area called "spin cycle")
Mirage: Removed, Rethemed to El Dorado and replaced

Let me just say that the pictures were great! I'm glad that they are putting in 3 "new" flat rides this year the one flat ride that I loved at GL was the tilt o wirl I was mad last year when it was not there. Also another ride that I still miss is the rocket ship ride. And I never went on the rotor because my brother was to scared or something like that.

Man X Flight looks to awsome! I'm so jealous out here in Rocklin, CA, but I've still got Stealth, but X- Flight definitley looks more intense!
I do miss the flying scooters and the rotor. They were at Euclid Beach many years ago. I grew up riding them. But looking forward to XFlight.
We only live 40 minutes from SFO. Going to be a fun summer!
Do they have park maps yet?
