Hammerhead stall

From a dutch site

Hammerhead stall isn't dead !

hammerhead stall has been repainted, checked and is APPROVED FOR OPERATION !!!

The trains and liftcar are being checked right now

and also the rumour goes that sixflags has been denied a permit to build a attraction that was over 25 meters

Six Flags has again enterd a new permit to build THE attraction on a other location

PLEASE LET IT BE, GIVE US HAMMERHEAD STALL !!!

It was supposed to go to Fantasy Island (UK).  If it's ready to go, it will probably end up there.

(Edit: Didn't mean Martin's, meant Fantasy Island UK)

Was a Hammerhead Stall ever actually manufactured?  From what I've heard, the answer to that is "no."  I suppose Vekoma may have built a prototype in their lot, but I'm not sure about that. Several parks have expressed an interest in the ride, the first of which (I believe) was Six Flags Holland.  Vekoma backed out of the deal when they couldn't deliver.

Next came Fantasy Island in England (*not* Martin's Fantasy Island!).  The word around the industry was that Vekoma was backing out of that one as well, again because they couldn't deliver the product.  In any case, if Vekoma is ready to install a Hammerhead Stall somewhere I'm sure it will go to Fantasy Island in 2003 (as planned).  It's a bit late for SFH to be getting something, not to mention the fact that you're already getting a kick-butt ride!  Perhaps there will be 2 installed in '03, but I wouldn't count on it yet.

Wasn't some hotel in Orlando going to build one too?

Is it the roar of Kumba or the kumba of Roar? Discuss!

Oops...forgot that one.  Thanks for pointing it out, Spacecase.  :-)
Indeed, the first installation was supposed to be at the Sheraton Studio City Hotel in Orlando.  I believe it was the hotel who backed out of that one (though Vekoma couldn't have delivered it anyway).  FYI the same hotel was also supposed to install a wild mouse, rumored to be an ArrowBATic.  They backed out of that, as well.

Vekoma did indeed build a prototype on their lot -- you can check out the pictures here.

I've seen pictures, descriptions, and artist's renditions, but I still I still have yet to figure out what it does.

Can someone fill me in as to what this is, is it LIM, or some kind of catapult?

I don't get how it works. What does it do? How is it operated? Air pressure?

It looks like it has one big steel cable running the along the bottom that is connected to a sled of some sort.

Call me a Philistine..  but quite frankly, am I the only one who isn't buying it?  It doesn't look like all that much fun, and what about capacity?  Holy cow, I thought Deja Vu had lines.

I think it looks like an awsome ride. It looks like it might have some pretty good air and I think turning at the top would be one heck of an experience!

Where has the magic gone in the name Disney?

Isn't there a hammerhead stall built in Las Vegas?
-----------------
Six Flags Marine World..... Theme Parks taken to a whole new level.
Just looks like another crazy, pie-in-the-sky Vekoma project.  If its ever built, the unproven technology will never be reliable enough to benefit any park.  Hopefully, SF has learned its lesson with Vekoma and other companies will look to SF problems as a reason to stay away.

Nope.  Nothing close to it.

That track sorta looks like Arrow 4D track. Interesting. First Vekoma & Arrow looper/corkscrew track looks similar, and now their "next generation" tracks looks similar too.
