Hamel's Park

This park was my home park in Shreveport Louisiana and theres not a lot of info on it. It was a really small amusement park and i was wondering if anybody had any info on it like size in acres, rides, etc. It would be greatly appreciated *** Edited 1/25/2004 3:36:10 AM UTC by jrhodes07***
I know they had a train, swings, log flume, Zyklon, Gravitron, Ballon ride, and several kiddie rides. All of the rides have been removed except for the log flume and what looks like an unfinished water ride (I've yet to figure out what it was supposed to be. It looks like a mini-rapids ride built above the ground). Most, if not all, of the buildings are still there. Every few weekends, some type of craft show-like thing is held there.

I have a picture of the log flume I took one day. I can email it to you or post it somwhere if you would like to see it.

The bigger they are, the harder they brake
That was actually a portable River Rapids ride. When Steve Vander-Vorste bought the park he brought it out of storage (his family has a warehouse full of old rides) and installed it.

Does anybody know why Hamels Park went out of business. Was it like bankruptcy or just bad management
