Ham on Rye. What do you think?

Has anyone been on one of the ham on rye VR theatres. If so what do you think. I went on one in chessington world of adventures ( england) and thought it was quite good. It was a pirate game that was quite simple. I would pay just to sit on the chairs there so comfy!!!!!! Are there any other good games that are on them cause i know that six flags has invested in a few this year. What did you think of them? ( if you've experienced it).
Waste of space, and I think waste of people's money if they ride one...you can always try one for free at a Science Center anytime.

All i can say is that they can be extremely profitable. I think variety is the key however. The Adventuredome constantly changes its shows to keep it popular.

Here are the reviews from the Ham on Ryes that opened up at SFMW and PGA:

I HATED IT!!! it was very confusing. When I went up to pay i say a little thing that said ham on rye and i pointed it out to my fired to prove the name and the guy was shocked i knew the name. we talked a little about it. The chairs where very confortable. the headset was terrible. i could hardly see anything!!! the keypad was very weird and it was so irretating hearing his voice over the speakers and in the head set(not optional). I think everyone should try it but i don't think it's worth it to do a second time.

Personally, I thought it was VERY annoying. Having people scream and curse into amped up microphones, then blarring it out over the speakers onto the midway, is a tremendously bad idea IMO. But it attracts attention from passerbyers, which I guess is the idea. Just feel so sorry for the poor sea lions in the tank only a few feet away.

The guy who advertises it practically accosts people at they head to/away from Roar. He shouts at them, says 'funny' comments about them, and such. It was really annoying.

I hate Spam On Rye, the biggest waste of $5.

It's based on some pirate theme. Personally I would rather spend the money on food then a silly 3D game where I stomp my feet and yell like a fool. I have yet to experince it but I think I'll pass.

PGA's Ham On Rye opened today, I didnt mind it that much. It was actually quite funny. The movie stunk but the actor/pirate/host/? was pretty good. I came in 2nd Place! Should of won i was being loud. I would do it again.

I did it and I came first...then I took off my visor and there was a crowd of ppl staring at me. I then proceeded to trip down the stairs in front of er'body....and had to play it off like I was dancing. Honestly, it.......sux

I'd never spend $5 for it, but it is fun to watch all the riders making idiots out of themselves! ;)

I don't think to much of them either! just the seats. And watching people look stupid. It's too short and there isn't a storyline at all just. There was about 1 mini game on it the rest was waving your arms and shouting. It gave me a headache! I didnt realise everyone could hear you till halfway through after i'd been talking to my friend about something not very public!!hehe

The vampires back with more avengence! and rust!

They're popping up everywhere, there's one at SFNE now. I saw it on Media Day for BDK.

-----------------
Make it to SFNE for S:Ros and BDK!!!!

Um, I try to pretend it's not there.

It's about the most annoying thing an amusement park can add. Unfortunately, we're probably going to see other copycat companies NOW trying to get their stuff into parks. As ugly as this pay-per-ride crap is getting, this is just the beginning.

Me? Your MUCH more likely to get money out of me with those addicting DDR machines!

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone

Ham on Rye is the nameof the company. The product is called the VR Action Theater. They could make loads of money is they served those sub sandwhiches while watching the show. Hand me that sub with the annoying show and a fountain drink, you'd have my $5 bucks ;)

Get ride of the Ham on Ryes, They suck. Put in a really good dark ride with a really hot theme, make it interactive where you can get out of your car with a laser gun. Kind of like a laser tag. Then get back in the car at a different point in the ride to finish the ride. Maybe call it Barretta? :)

stoogemanmoe, the page coming soon to a computer near you!!

Where does the name "Ham on Rye" come from?
I appear to be a little ignorant, (am in UK so thats a good excuse) but what are you talking about, Ham on Rye? Sounds like a sandwich.. From the above I gather something about VR but what? individual? cinema? help? and one in Chessington, missed that completely!
