HalloWeekends at CP

I'm planning a trip to Cedar Point for Sunday, October 17th. I know I won't be able to experience very many of the Halloweekends attractions, but I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a list of all operating rides. If there is no list, are all the coasters usually open on HalloWeekends?

Well on the Cedar Point calendar on their website, they tell you on Fridays that certain rides that will be open, and everything else will be closed. So since there is no information on Sundays, I can assume everything will be open.
Everything is open on Sundays, weather permitting.

All the major rides are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Just some of the smaller rides are closed on Fridays. You can check http://halloweekends.cedarpoint.comor this link http://halloweekends.cedarpoint.com/public/general.cfm?current_root=65 for more information.

Does "smaller rides" mean smaller flats or smaller coasters like Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Corkscrew, or Gemini? I noticed that Mantis was not listed on the site given for Friday ride operations given on the website, does anyone know a reason for that?

I apologize for asking these apparently "pointless" questions, but I've got a 3.5 hour drive to get to the park, and I want to make sure the trip will be worth it. *** Edited 10/1/2004 7:56:33 PM UTC by CoasterKrazy***

He gave you a direct link. Click it! :)

The park is usually empty on Sundays also.

Thanks for the help. I can't wait for the 17th to come.

I know last year the crowds were MASSIVE on Halloweekends. I think someone on here posted a TR and a Picture of the crowds too. Any word on how the crowds are so far this year?

MF-37
TTD-54

Last year, on one of the first Fridays of Halloweekends, it was raining like crazy. Most rides (coasters) were open, minus (from what I found) Mean Streak and TTD (which was closed after one ride that night, which was my first ride on it and only rollback :). I believe the winds kicked up later that evening and Wicked Twister was then closed. The rains and winds made MF almost unbearable.

That Saturday night was horribly packed. I think Werewolf Canyon was a 45 minute to an hour wait alone. TTD and MF were too crowded, so we spent the time going on everything else that evening. Sunday was pretty mellow (which you have read that everyone typically reports that Sundays are the least crowded).

I will be there the weekend of the 15th to the 17th, and plan on doing my MF and TTD marathons on Friday and Sunday. Saturday will just be enduring the crowds and werewolves :)

Went last year on a sunday, great weather, nobody there. <15 wait for MF and TTD and a walk on for everything else, enjoy!

When CPLady and I were there on the 26th (a Sunday), it was pretty dead. Ride on TTD at 2:30 PM and we'd waited *maybe* 20 minutes tops. Pretty sweet. :)

"You had a rollback? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

I literally just got back from the airport from a weekend trip to CP. Friday night was pretty dead. Maybe a 1/2 hour wait for MF and TTD (when it opened) Everything else was a walk on.

Saturday was dead in the morning but just got pretty busy by the end of the day. Still not bad with 1 hour waits for TTD and 45 min waits for MF.

Sunday was dead, with 20 min for MF and 1/2 hour - 45 mins for TTD.

Wicked Twister is STILL down....anyone know why? I asked and was told that it MIGHT be up next weekend...

Just advice from personal experience last year-
DON'T EVER go to Halloweekends on a saturday! ITs madness!! I waited 45 minutes for the Blue Streak!!!
Sundays have usually been pretty good to me, especially towards the end of the season when it gets too cold for most people. :)

Janet,

You must've been there the same Saturday that OldCPer and I were! We (being crazy) waited 45 min. for Witches' Wheel. Hahaha.

I think they said that that day was the highest attendance for CP in 5 years though!
