Halloweekends at Cedar Fair Parks

Gemini's avatar
I will say that HalloWeekends has felt "different" over the past two seasons than it did for the first four. I don't think it has anything to do with the amount of decorations, but there was something that I can't quite put my finger on. It just hasn't been the same atmosphere.

Oh, so we're "illogical" now. (Smacks own head.) Silly me! I failed to recognize your post as discreet math!

LOL This is getting pretty funny.

Illogical- adj.
Contradicting or disregarding the facts of logic.

You state on your boards that you want us to use logic, facts, and just thoughts on your boards to back up a statement made. Which, I, you and others have done. I was just stating that a couple of posts where made illogical.

The question really is, as Gemini stated, What really is that thing you can't put the finger on? I look at it as the decorations. You might look at it as something else, or nothing at all. I just stated what I think it might be.

I'm really looking forward to see if MiA will get to do a Halloweekends next year. It would be a great place for A Swamp Thing Theming. I could also see MiA doing a KSF since the park already closes early, Why not have the reopen after 6pm and have some really cool things to do? I don't know if it would work right away, since it would be hard to build a haunted house right now with the few buildings, but I could see it happening.

CP holloweekends are alot of fun.. especially fri nights when not too many people is there...This years weekends was definitely the most crowded I've ever seen, like a regular summer nite. Love or hate it , IT IS EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL..... and I never knew the fog machines could be seen on local weather radar..Now thats too cool !

-----------------
WOOF !

Those fog machines pump a HUGE HUGE amount of fog out. When they turn them all on they have them each about a couple hundred (if that) feet apart from each other. At night with the red green and purple light it's pretty cool. SFWoA has some cool parts on Villain that at the bottom your in the fog, when you come up to the top your out and the whole ride is like that. Parts of MF you go down into the fog also, which is a blast. Kennywood almost over did their fog in the tunnel. It was so thick, at some points, you couldn't even see your own hand in front of you...literally! Add all that with some monsters, sound effects, and lights, it's a BLAST!

Yeah, so which parts? Still waiting for an explanation on what's "illocical."

I'll tell you what's different... it's actually organized. The first few years were about throwing up a bunch of junk where ever. There was no quality control, and some of it looked like a third grade class room. Now stuff is concentrated and more uniform, not just random displays all over the place.

I really didn't wanty to do this, but since Jeff asked...

"

Full of crap. is an illogical post. And the fact that you stated that there is the same amount of decorations is illogical. Since they took the old ones out and bought a little more upscale decorations, but not as many. I stated what they took out INCLUDING the Iron Dragon car last year. Which I have pictures, AND video of it gone during Halloweekends. They took out many things, I stated that. You said I was full of crap so I stated that was illogical reasoning. But hey it's your boards. And I apreciate what you have done.

Then Robodud, went on acting like I was bashing CP because of what they did. If he would have read the above post of mine through I stated that CP has gone more family oriented which can be a good thing. So his whole post became illogical since he miss understood the above statment. And that is why I stated the above to posts as illogical.

Everyone has his or own opninions which is fine by all means. Heck the author of this posts wanted opnions. I think everyone above has stated good opnions on to why or why not they like certain parks just, as you ask, use some form of points to back up the opinion. Without bashing other board members. But again it's your boards. I just try to post on here what people want to know with facts...good or bad. :)

We're just hating on you because you brought SF Waste of an Afternoon (where you pay extra for the haunts) into a topic clearly titled "Halloweekends at Cedar Fair Parks." You reek of fanboydom and I can't stand that.

But Jeff (and I am being a devil's advocate here), by "hating on" RollerCoasterGod for bringing up SFWoA are you not reeking of "fanboydom" for CP, yourself?

I as an impartial person who has visited both places, and whose homepark is neither, did not read "fanboydom" into RCG's posts. He stated what is his opinion, IMHO, with well thought-out comments.

I'm a fan boy, sure, and harshest critic, and know when to interject if the time is appropriate.

As the great Mr. Spock would say "I'm finding your posts highly illogical."

Listen Toolbox, I'm stating an observation, that's it. You're turning this into a "you disagree with me, you're ILLOGICAL." Oh the horror!! If you really have to go about and parade the fact that you're a Six Flags fanboy, then that's fine by me. Don't go around saying that I'm wrong becuase I disagree with you. I may not have been to all three parks during their Halloween event, but I'm stating Cedar Point's theming as it is.

Go on ahead and live with the fact that you have spent your entire day rebutting Jeff and I, while I was out touring a chocolate factory, playing DDR, and getting my Christmas shopping done. Thanks for playing, have a nice day, and I can I have a free dessert with that?

Well IMHO Valleyfair's and Worlds of Fun's versions fof Halloweekends were very subpar when compared with other parks events. Even SixFlags StLouis has a much better Halloween event than those two parks. Of course nothing like HHN or Scary Farm - but good for this area. I think the main thing is, in KC people go to the mazes downtown not WOF to get scared to death.
