Hagrid's Hut found in building permits at Islands of Adventure

A number of sharp-eyed fans have spotted the rooftop of a structure rising in Universal Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter that looks an awful lot like Hagrid's Hut, home of the half-giant character from the Potter novels and movies. Building permits pulled by Universal for the much-anticipated, highly secretive Potter project show that the resort is indeed constructing Hagrid's Hut.

Does anyone know of a closer opening date than 2009? I'm assuming late 2009 at this rate...just wondering when to use my free passes. I would hate to go down there and this is opened yet.

I'm not convinced it will be entirely ready to go even by late Feb/early Mar 2010---that's the next time I expect to be in Florida.

I thought the time frame was 2010.

^Agreed. All the signage at the park says "Opening 2010". I was equally suspicious and pleasantly surprised to see the '09 date....I think it's an error, and may have been confused with Rockit.

They once said late 2009/early 2010. RCD, there's no way it's opening in 2009. Use your pass whenever it works best for you, it aint getting you in to see Harry.
Keep in mind, too, Dueling Dragons will go down later this year and won't reopen until the whole Island opens.

The Sentinel must not have much to report on these days. This totally hits me as a niche piece of info I would read on the forums of some HP fan site.

No, it's on the "page" where they have a bunch of short tourism related stories. Doesn't that seem relevant to you, given the impact of tourism on that city's economy? I don't understand why people say things like that, as if to imply you can only report on minor things and not big things.

Yeah, I thought the target for launch was late 2010 when Deathly Hallows Part I is released.
