Hades - What minute is it opening?

What is the construction completion timetable for the Hades coaster at Mt. Olympus? Has the train made a circuit, yet?

What is the likely opening day, assuming weather is perfect? The phone operator at Mt. Olympus said that it will definitely be open for Memorial Day weekend, if not sooner, depending on the weather. What does that mean?

Who will get the first ride on this thing, random parkgoers? Will there be a private media day for enthusiasts? I assume so, considering everyone is so "mum". *** Edited 4/12/2005 11:28:13 PM UTC by Bill*** *** Edited 4/12/2005 11:29:41 PM UTC by Bill***

Woah...someone forgot to take their ritalin today! ;)

The park is your best source for info...if that's all they can tell you what makes you think anyone here has better info?

They open the outside rides when they feel like it...and they close it that way too. The weather here in MN has been nice, so I would bet there would be some early weekends, but they won't promise anything in advance. I would recomend calling like on Thurs or Fri before any weekend you could go and checking for that weekend. Mt Olympus is not like a normal park. There are no preview weekends or media days. If the weather is nice and there are a lot of cars driving up and down the strip, they will probably open if they can.
As of this past weekend, trains are not even on the track and the station is not yet complete.

good grief, this grapples with patience, haha:) what minute does it open? ok...which one of you smarty pants's wishes to dust off the 'ol crystal ball...;)

still trying to think of a good signature...

If they do have early weekends, I wonder if they will let you buy and use a season pass for them considering the website says the passes are only good Memorial day till Labor day?

You'd have to call them and ask. They've been open the past two weekends. There are five or six go-kart tracks ready, but Zeus is the only coaster that has opened so far (and it's running great). It looks as though Cyclops is nearly ready, however.

Only if enthusiasts are members of the media I would think.

The park, at their discretion, MIGHT decide to invite some enthusiasts for media day....happened to me on USF's Mummy...:)

But seriously, if anything like that happens, you WILL hear (well, read) about it...

Sometimes they CAN be first-come, first-served type situations, so DO stick close to your e-mail...and make sure you're affiliated with LOTS of coaster clubs...;)

And do some deep breathing in the meantime...:)

bill, also very excited about Hades...wood AND tunnels, musta been built with me in mind...:)

I'm toying with the idea of making a jaunt up to the Dells for Memorial Day weekend. I've been wanting to make it up there and Hades will probably be the impetus to finally get those coasters under my belt.
Hmmm...it will be opening at 0900 hours, and .000000001 seconds....or 9:01:01...or mebbe 10:00:01...well hey you asked!

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

This is one coaster, well, one area of the USA I am looking forward to the most this summer!

From the pics I have seen it looks absolutely blissfull!

It's hard to tell how Hades is gonna hold up two or three years from now. Will it continue to thrill or be the second coming of Hercules?

But at least theres a 6-way ProSlide racer in the '05 plans as well. And to think it's seven hours closer to home than the next installation...

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

I called the park and season passes are not till Memorial Day weekend, which is also when she said Hades will open.
That looks so wild. It is an S turn with some bunny hills too.

Notice the banking on the bunny hill is TOWARDS the tunnel wall? Also that red "rope thing" hanging from the wall is a light to make the tunnel glow red. As you can see the walls will be lined with that.
I don't think so on the red lights. That just looks like a power cord to me and the Mt Olympus website says it will be completely dark in the tunnel.

I suppose I could be wrong. But if that's a power cord then why have mounts in parallel rows all the way down the wall? Unless they're going to line the walls with something? Sound dampener maybe? Those mounts are there for something.
