Group sues owners of Kennywood over mask policy

This is the same dirt bag attorney that is suing Giant Eagle for the same reasons.

This is why we can't have nice things. Like jobs and entertainment and amusement parks.

The USA is filled with self entitled garbage. Going to an amusement park even isn’t a necessity! These people are so selfish they only care about their own pleasure and comfort over the health of others.

If states can have seat belts laws and require clothing in public, they can require face masks.

This time the issue is at Hershey

That's pretty hard to watch, because that's familiar territory for me. However, Hersheypark is still right to deny entry. I get it, my kid couldn't stand in sand, and has scratched itches until he would bleed, so these sensitivity issues are certainly real. The inability for the kid to reconcile why a mask is necessary is also very real, but it's one of those things that you simply can't do anything about.

I don't want to judge parents with kids who have ASD, because I know how hard it is, and how misunderstood it is by virtually everyone else. But there's a fine line between advocating for your child and engaging in parental entitlement, and this is right on that line.

Crazy! If a kid has an issue with wearing a mask, then the parent(s) should take the responsibility and not take him/her there. My step-son has severe Autism and there is no way he will keep the mask on. So we would not take him somewhere not needed.

Here in Kansas, masks are required. But a few counties in our area have overturned decision and they are only recommended. Next week we have to take him to Wichita for doctor visit where they are required. Exemptions to the requirement there are people with certain disabilities. So hoping we don't have any issues when taking him into stores. Normally I stay in car with him unless I need to get something myself or take bathroom break.

While I don't have a dog in this fight, it's pretty easy to spot the difference between a parent who just wants to do right by their child's needs and the parent who wants to waive their child's needs around like a flag and demand special... well, special everything. I'm sure it doesn't begin and end at Hersheypark.

Unless autism, anxiety, COPD, etc. make you immune from being a carrier and infecting others, then respectfully you need to stay home.

Not to mention that you can't prove any of these things, so nothing's gonna stop people from saying they have anxiety and not wearing a mask just because they don't feel like it.

^No you can't prove there is a disability, and no they are not immune. But when you have a child with certain case, there is not much you can do. He is not taking it off to rebel. He doesn't know any better. Hell, he won't even keep a bandaid on. He takes it off right away. His Autism is severe and he doesn't talk or understand life. He is 23 years old but is like a 2 yr old mentally. While we were in Wichita for 3 days last weekend, we had went into several places. I was wearing a mask and holding his hand the entire time and never had anyone question us about him not having mask.

But, again these were required stops. No leaving him in car by himself. We would not attempt to take him to a park at the moment. I hate wearing a mask but do so when required. I am not to going to bitch moan about the policies. It is what it is. It just gives me more reason to get in and out of store more quickly! :)

A few days ago, Southwest Airlines announced that if you were unwilling or unable to wear a mask, you were not welcome to fly with them. The only exception was for children under 2.

I don't believe that airlines are allowed to discriminate. They have to serve everyone.

Last time I flew Southwest they had Peanuts, though that was a year ago now.

That went away some time ago, I’m thinking surely more than a year ago. Pretzels only.
And I think now there’s no snacks or bev service on most flights anyway.

As an employee of a different airline I couldn't agree more. No mask, get the F off my plane!

99% of the people in the airport and on the planes are polite and respectful of the policy. They're sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers for hours and they get it. I've never seen passengers as a whole act more politely getting off a plane than in recent weeks. But there's always those other people that have to make things difficult.

Again, I try not to judge, but we had similar issues with SPD, and still do to an extent. My kid basically has to endure torture in the last room of the Hagrid queue. That said, we generally investigate all unknowns before we go anywhere with him on vacation. I wouldn't drop thousands without knowing he can roll, otherwise it's not going to be much of a vacation.
