If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

My friend just called me about this. If the park weren't so far away from Baltimore, I'd be totally down with going as I actually have off on the day she wants to go. The rest of the park isn't open, so I don't see much of a point in going. For anyone else going, have fun!:)
It's a full day of riding Griffon with little to know wait long before the general public gets to ride... I guess, in other words, it's mostly for bragging rights... or, if you plan on going to BGE later this year and are afraid you won't get as many rides on Griffon as you'd want because of the long line, going on media day would ensure you of your fill of rides.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

^Or not. Having participated in the Batwing Media Day, you may not get that many rides in as you think you will. If they get a celebrity or celebrities to ride, they take precidence over a "lowly" ACE member or their friend/s.

Remember, the park is trying to put on a big show for the media. There may be long periods of inactivity while you sit there as "models" while the local/national/international t.v. reporter interviews the public relations director or general manager. Suprisingly, the media may take your seats as well:)

Then there's cameramounts/microphones etc. that have to be changed around, which can be time consuming etc.

And remember, even if you still prefer Big Bad Wolf to Griffon, "Griffon is the best ride I've ever been on in my life!" if you happen to be interviewed.:)

wow...with all the ACE bashing you guys do on this site I would be surprised if they would even let any of you attend.
So I just registered on Coasterbuzz. Wondering if there is anyone who wants to bring me along on Media Day? In Va Beach area. Anyone? Anyone?...
ACEr's due take it on the chin quite a bit, but there are also a lot of ACEr's on Coasterbuzz. I know it's surprising, but not everyone hates ACE. I went to their October 06' event at PKD and had a blast, while also meeting some cool people in the process.

Just to be definitive about my "lowly ACE member" comment, I meant it as in "You're pretty much just a seat-filler today, unless interviewed." It's not an ERT, although it could turn into one.

Agreed. I've been a member for almost 20 years. No shame here :)

^ But you're one of the cool ones... ;)

Like ANY group, there's going to be people you like more, and people you like less. Always be polite and cordial and you're usually welcome almost anywhere. :)

I'm a proud lowly ACE member...I've been both an interviewee and a seat-filler, and both are fun. Empty parks are ALWAYS good times...even just walking around.

I've been a member since 1992...not ashamed of it either.

Making fun of ACE doesn't mean you hate it. I make fun of American Idol mercilessly but I still watch every week.

Hell, the most brutal ACE-teasers here are members themselves.

I drop tons of jokes about the Chicago Cubs but I still Love them.
I have also been thinking of dropping some money to join ACE.

Ugh, I think someone just found a good reason *not* to go to Hershey, is this a first?

Not to turn this off topic, but I gladly drop my $ every year just for the publications. Haven't gotten to go to an event in years.

Peabody nice point. I am for sure joining before 2009 season because Coaster Con is coming to Missouri that year.
As I learned from the Travel Channel shooting, many acers arent really.... 'TV Friendly'... no offense or anything.
