Greezed Lightnin, SFKK

Im planning on going to SFKK Monday and some recent trip reports Ive read on other sites say that Greezy is closed alot but others say its open. Does anyone know if its open alot this year because I badly want to ride it on Monday.

I work at SFKK and it is almost always open. Very rarely is it down for more than 15 min. Around May though Greezed was having trouble with it's launch. One day it vallied 3 times so they closed it down. After that it's been open almost everyday. It does break down everyday but it's open in like 5 min. If you get there and it isn't open don't give up hope because they usually get it up in an hour. Nothing major. You picked a good time to go though. The 21st we had storms come through and lightning struck Hellevator, Chang, and T2. Everything is finally back up.

Thanks. How are crowds around this time of the season? *** Edited 7/29/2006 5:53:48 PM UTC by jonrev***

Have fun, I heard it was the best Schwarzkopf Shuttle from several people.
I'm planning on a HW and SFKK trip this weekend. I have never ridden a Schwarzkopf Shuttle myself, so I'm certainly hoping it's open as well!

You must of heard about the other Greezed Lightnin', as in the one formerly at AstroWorld. The one at SFKK starts off good, but for some crazy reason, they trim it as you pass backward through the station, killing the back spike thrill you get on all of the other Anton shuttles.

^ yes, I'm sure they have their reasons for the trim, but seems a shame much of the reverse spike is not utilized.:(

When I was there on the Friday of HoliWood Nights, the train still over-shot the brakes on the final stop, so they had to push the train back into position for the next launch. I wonder the if the "need" to trim is related to this.

For some reason the brakes don't stop the train in the right position in the station if it has more speed than what it does now going into the back spike. So they brake it more and thus the front of the train sucks. It also has way more speed going through the loop then what it used to. I remember the Saturday after the opening weekend for Greezed it had awesome hangtime in the loop. Now it is a g machine. If your head is in the wrong position it could possibly make it a little painful. But I love that ride, it's pretty intense. In response to the crowd question, wed and thur are the slowest days. Saturday is the absolute worst day you could go. If you are looking to marathon Greezed you will be able to everyday except Saturday. It's always empty there.

Umm, that's not true. I was there yesterday, a Saturday, and it was not that crowded for many of the rides. Greezed Lightnin' and Twisted Twins were both walk-on's. Chang's line wasn't bad either.

Doesn't mean it's still not the worst day, crowd-wise.
