I've been holding out on you fellow coaster fans. Have been in the Holy Land for the last two weeks and it's amazing how I can Buzz there as well!
Exactly a week ago, on Thursday 11, went to Luna Park Tel Aviv to ride their newest coaster, Anaconda. Its a standard Vekoma Boomerang built last year and wanted to see if it felt smoother than the Demon at my home park, Wonderland Sydney. It would be the 2nd Boomer I've been on and to up my c.count, plus I can't resist any unridden coasters.
Driving up to the park, my eyes locked on Anaconda. Its track is painted purple with blue supports. The photos i took don't do it justice.
I had a free ticket from my cousin, so walked in. It's a gen. admission park priced at 75NIS (New Israeli Shekels), about US$19. Headed straight for Anaconda and saw two Israelis putting up red tape across the access. What!? They said it's not working. Huh? I took a closer look, the entire train was sitting on the bricks next to the ride in pieces. !@#$ They said it would be open again in two weeks. Great, as I leave tomorrow.
IS THIS NORMAL FOR THE TRAIN ON A BOOMERANG TO BE STRIPPED DOWN AFTER LESS THAN ONE YEAR OF OPERATION???
Not to be defeated, I snuck around the bathroom and took pics of the cars. Then walked outside the park to take more pics. I ended up riding a coaster called... you guessed, 'Roller Coaster.' Well, the name was in Hebrew. It kinda looks like this "0'7n nCC7"! It's a Pinfari Compact Portable. Rode it five times, mainly to take pics of Anaconda from the top.
I was shocked, the ride-ops are pretty slack. There is no uniforms in the park at all. They were smoking or taking turns to ride. On my first ride, the girl in front of me stood up during most of the ride. She came so close to smashing her head on the supports on the 2nd turn. Also the cars have no restraints whatsoever. I recall belts on other Pinfaris.

CoasterGod, you didn't happen to be there on a Birthright trip, did you? Also, I saw the bomerang when I was there from the 2nd-11th, and it does have a really nice paint job. Didn't get to ride it though.:(

The new coaster at "Super Land" park (looks like a SLC to me..) is almost done. Sparkling in local white and blue ,with red-orange train. it stands on the far right end of the park,with a nice view to the lake outside, there is still lots of work going around the track, and the station is not up yet, but it looks like it's gonna be all done for the summer season."
What???? !@#$ To think I was going to check out Super Land on my 2nd last day and never did. Would've got some construction pics. I've never taken con. pics. Oh well, next time.

I too went to Luna Park in Tel Aviv about 2 years ago. Let me tell ya something it was an interesting experinced. The whole staff there is rude,but what do u expect from Isrealis. When I went to the water slide the ride op and asked how many people. So I told him in Hebrew and i guess he knew that I was American because I couldn't speak Hebrew that well and he told me this, "Don't bull s*** me, get over there" and pointed me to a raft. The theory in Israel is that most people are bitter because by the time they are 18 they have known someone who was killed in the violence.

Well next time you are there you say in English 'one'. Since Isrealis all speak English. You more or less insulted him, and said the wrong thing. Your at a park getting on a slide, not reading sandscript to a bible study class. Now start a forum about the rides there and what fun you had in a foreign culture.
I often have a hard time believing any American when they say someone in another country is being rude because, quite frankly, I think we set the standard.

Agent first off I wasn't saying the wrong thing because I was with friends who speak fleunt Hebrew. I can too can count to 10 in hebrew and say please and thank you which i attempted to do. Second not all Israeli's speak English. I was just comparing what visiting an amusment park in another land is like. In this case it wasn't the best experince. And that bible study comment indicates that you only got to see Christian Israel and not most of its culture.
