Greatest number of "2nd hand" rides?

The Flyers that went to Compounce were the second set, which I believe came from either West View Park or Idora.
Astroworld might get it for strictly coasters?

X...Whoa

The majority of the rides at Thrillville USA in Turner,Oregon are second hand. I don't know if this beats Knoebels, though. Ripper, the Schartzkopf Jet Star coaster came from SCBB.

To the best of my knowledge...

SFAW has 4 recycled coasters: The Viper, Batman: The Escape, Mayan Mindbender, Ultra Twister, and 5 original coasters. (and hey, one of our recycles IS a Schwarzkopf, how can you go wrong with a Schwarzkopf?)

SFNO has 4 recycled coasters: Batman The Ride, Jester, Zydeco Scream, Muskrat Scramber and 2 original coasters.

I can't think of another park with more relocated rides off the top of my head.. but I do believe that SFNO will take top honors when they get SFGAm's Shockwave next year (evil grin). =)

You can't count ones that are just cloned.

He means it operated in another park.

tpdom....BOTH of the Batmen (Batmans?) that Panther listed are "recycled"....one from Japan (SFNO's), the other (AW's) thru the SF ride rotation program.

Incidentally, the SF ride rotation program, which has now caught on with Paramount I guess (;)), is responsible for the creation of our "fantasy leagues". Second-hand rides ROCK....not only can the purchasing park often save a LOT of money, but we get to enjoy historic rides that might otherwise be sitting in someone's boneyard wasting away....

Now if I can only get *someone* to buy the Little Dipper...;)

I wasn't. To the best of my knowledge, all those rides have operated in at least 2 parks.

SFWoA isn't too far behind, off the top of my head, I've counted 11 "second hand" rides at SFWoA. 9 of which were added in the past couple years. This also includes the Starfish ride, in which a lady fell out of and was killed last year at SFMW.

My mistake. ;) Man , that paint job fooled me to death. :)

While a few SF parks may come close, I am pretty sure that Knoebels is the undisputed champ when it comes to "reborn" rides, when you refer to sheer number as well as percentage of relocated rides compared to all park rides.

One of the things that makes Knoebels so great is that it contains the remnants of many long-gone amusement parks and merges them into one fantastic experience. Ironic is the fact that one of the most unique things about Knoebels is that not a whole lot of the park's rides are unique to Knoebels- many of the rides are left-overs from dozens of other places!

Of course, the atmosphere and operations ARE unique to Knoebels... I truly believe there is no other place in the world like it when it comes to those qualities.

I myself looooooved Knoebels... I'd love to go back... Phoenix is an outstanding ride, and after all, it's where I was introduced to Birch Beer. So even if there are a lot of relocated rides, it was still fantastic. Except for Whirlwind. Ouch.

Well, the relocated rides kind of make the park what it is. Its not like, say, Canyon Blaster at Great Escape or wherever SFGAm's Shockwave winds up- those are basically examples of old "junk" that were re-installed for the sake of saving money on a new ride. The relocated rides that Knoebels has are usually rare examples of rides that can no longer be found (Roto-Jet, Carousels) or the installation of older equipment in a new ride (Antique Cars, Haunted Mansion).
