Great Wolf Resorts and Paramount Parks announced the formation of a joint venture to develop a 39-acre, $100+ million Great Wolf Lodge resort at Paramount's Kings Island. Great Wolf Resorts will operate the resort under its Great Wolf Lodge brand and will maintain the majority equity position in the project. Paramount's Kings Island, a unit of Viacom Inc., will have a minority equity interest in the development by contributing the land needed for the resort.

Well, who couldn't see that coming?
Awesome! I'll most likely be taking my 3-day getaway at PKI area in 2006 :)
Any word on when/if/where they'll re-locate the camp ground?
Midwave, try 2007 because the resort probably won't be ready until after the 2006 PKI season ends. They break ground this summer and it has taken between 12-14 months for Great Wolf to complete their last few resorts.

So, just like Castaway Cay opening in November in Sandusky, look for a fall 2006 opening here.

In the conference call they asked Great Wolf if it was in negotiations with other Paramount properties -- tt was Paramount that approached Great Wolf, by the way -- and Great Wolf said that they would definitely be interested but they have nothing official to announce anytime soon.

Took my first trip to Great Wolf back in January. I don't care much for waterparks, (with the exception of Splashin' Safari @ HW), but Great Wolf's park was awesome. One part that was memorable for me was when my daughter and I were standing in line for the big slides and we were in front of the giant window at the end of the building. There we were in our bathing suits with just a window separating us from a snow storm and sub-zero temps. It was a weird feeling.
