I just like how Nitro became his "most favorite coaster." LOL.
Also, his opinion of Medusa is good..."Since it is after riding on NITRO, my impression is not quite satisfactory."

It tastes like burning.
I like this quote-"Since my favorite amusement park has closed to the very regrettable thing, it leaves here as recollections." All your base are belong to us!

SD2K and White Cyclone are 2 of the greatest rides out there. NS also has to be one of the nicest parks. (Rob, agree?)
If you can ever think of a reason to go to Osaka, be sure to go to NS. (It's just a little too expensive to go there for a coaster trip! :) )
Check out pics of all of their coasters at http://www.coastergallery.com/japant/NSL.html

Yeah, Peabody! It is an amazing place! I love Nagashima Spaland more than any park I have been to, and my experiences there have been rainy:) That said, I would easily rank SD2K and White Cyclone in my top 10 in either catagory, and not due to their record breaking endeavors. They are just super good!

Agreed. The record breaking nature of SD2K is not what makes it great. It's just good fun. I'm not sure White Cyclone broke any records outside of Japan, either. (Man that one caught me off guard. I was set to pop some asprin and ended up doing 5 in a row!)
Clean park (an understatement!!), superbly maintained rides, super friendly folks, and a pretty much guarenteed awesome day make NS the tops. If the Koch's wouldn't teacj SF how to do things right in terms of customer satisfaction, maybe the nice folks at NS would do so!

Steel Dragon 2000-This coaster is so close to being perfect. The once thing I would change is the exit of the turnaround. Other than that, weeee! Airtime on every single hill! :):)
As strange as it may sound, I think I like Fujiyama better.

TOGO!

PT300, in what seat did you ride WC? I rode it on a hot steamy day, post rain. I took a good half dozen+ rides, and if I remember right, the front was my favorite. Yes, the helixes were almost weird, but what I dug was the air. SWEET air!!! :) Combine that with the view, upkeep, and paint job, it was a great experience. It's not my number 1, but it's a favorite.
I will also agree with you about Fujiyama. SD2K has the feeling that many newer coasters give of being "too engineered". Fujiyama was more rough and tumble. Very out of control. If they could just smooth out some of the kinks in the lateral motion, it would be just amazing!

Lewis, I remember reading that TR that you sent me about WC. Too bad about your experience on it. It was a wonderful ride for me too. So smooth on the drop....:) I love the super headchoppers. My favorite on any ride. My experience on Fujiyama is a little different. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't that overwhelming. I do love the twists during the 3rd run through the coaster. Good stuff. All in all, though, I like Fujiyama much more than any other TOGO, that's for sure.

mmmmmmmmm.....coasters

It's now college football season. The only thing that makes coasters take a back seat. This also means Rollergator is the enemy again... for 4 months.
These parks sound amazing.
I've wanted to get to Japan for coaster riding for quite a while. It has been an area that I've avoided due to excessive costs. If only the counts in the smaller (and more accessible from my perspective) countries like Vietnam were better - and I've have a few more under my belt than I currently do.
Just yesterday I farewelled a close friend I've made over the past few months. I must admit, it is no wonder the reports of the Japanese parks are that they're spotless and stunning. These people take such great care in their appearance and overall attitude. What's more - from the experience I've recently had, I can say that they aren't snobby or anything like that - they're some of the most down-to-earth people - contrary to their portrayal for much of the 80's and early 90's in Hollywood.
Incidently enough, no, this Japanese fella wasn't a coaster freak - his first coaster was a few weeks ago - an Arrow Loops & Corkscrew at Sea World. He hadn't even heard of Nagashima or Fujikyu Highlands (and I don't think my Aussie accent is really that bad).

So what if the best coaster in Australia is a second hand Arrow?
