I'm 20 minutes from Knoebels
1hr 15 min from Hershey

4 1/2 from Kennywood
not too bad of a location

Knoebels visits in 2002. 4
I grew up north of Pittsburgh so Kennywood, Conneaut, Geauga Lake and CP were regular stops as a kid.
Now I live in Allentown:
under 5 miles to Dorney
about an hour to Hersheypark & Dutch Wonderland
around 1 1/2 hours to Knobels, Coney Island and SFGAdv
2 hours (give or take) to the Jersey Shore piers and Morey's
Lots of smaller parks in the region too (Bushkill, Sesame Place, etc)
Between the two we live in Jacksonville:
1 1/2 hours to Orlando parks or Wild Adventures
Now if I'd just move to SoCal I'd have all the major park areas all under my belt ;)

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
I live just west of Washington D.C., so here's my list of "close parks":
SFA - 1 hour
PKD - 2 hours
Hershey - 2 hours
BGW - 3 hours
Dorney - 3 hours
Knoebels - 3 hours
Lakemont and Idlewild - I think 3 hours (never been to)
SFGadv - 3.5 hours
Kennywood - 4 hours
Coney Island - 4.5 hours (near my wife's family so I go to CI when we visit)
CP - 8 hours
I'm pretty lucky to be able to get to so many parks easily.

Not a good place to live at all

S:RoS ( SFNE ) is #1!
I think Columbus, OH is a great location as far as parks go. All of the Ohio parks are within a few hours, and so is KW, SFKK. Parks within a 8 hour drive more than double this by getting you to St. Louis, Chicago, all the Indiana parks, MiA, PA parks and the one located in WV. I've still to hit many of these parks since I'm relatively new to central Ohio, but I'm not worried.
On a similar topic, the places that I most want to live in the U.S. are all terrible places to live as far as coasters are concerned. I love the Pacific Northwest and plan on moving back there someday. Hopefully by the time I get back SF will have worked wonders (no laughing) on their park up there and I hope the Great Northwest Themepark becomes a reality, and Oak's park can sure use a CCI beauty.
Northern VA is a pretty good place to live if you like parks,I've got SFA.PKD and BGW to go to and each of these parks have a well rounded selection of flats and coasters to choose from.
As well as the 3 parks listed there's also HP and maybe even Dorney as well as Kennywood to visit as well so all in all the N.VA area is a pretty good place to reside if you love parks and coasters.

Jazzland - 5 hours
SFKK - 5.5 hours
It could always be worse...
