Great Coasters Posts Animation Of Beech Bend's Ride

Are we all watching the same video? That coaster looks outrageous! I love that first drop and there appears to be plenty of airtime moments sprinkled throughout the layout. Besides, it's hard to gauge a ride based on something like that- how many times have to crested a weak-looking hill in No Limits but seen the g-force meter go ballistic?

Personally, I can't wait!

If you haven't ridden Thunderhead and watched this video, you'll think that this ride looks tame. The little hops that you see throughout Beech Bend's ride aren't ejector, but you'll feel them in the pit of your stomach.

This ride WILL open to rave reviews and may rank up there with Thunderhead. While the laterals may look boring on the ride, the open feeling of the Millennium Flyers will accentuate the feeling of laterals. I'm excited! If it keeps up the speed throughout the course this is going to be another "What the...?" coaster that Thunderhead is.

Yay for wooden coasters!

As much as I hate Kentucky (no offense to those living there) I can't stand not checking off another Clair Jr masterpiece.

Is there anyone else that has ridden every single GCII coaster created?

Jeff Pike (vice-president) and Mike Boodley (semi-retired) are the ones who should get credit for creating the layouts. Clair should get the credit for owning GCII and the building of the coasters.

Basicly everyone knows the Phoenix as a Schmeck coaster when infact it was built by PTC

Yes, I rode all of GCII's coasters. I finally scored Gwazi on the 4th of July this year! :)

My favorites are:
Thunderhead
Ozark Wildcat
Hershey's Wildcat

Looks like there trying to match Gravity Groups 90 Degree banking almost.

Awesome, CoasterPunk. I think GCII rides kick butt and I still haven't even been on all of 'em (Roar East).

I have to agree that Thunderhead and OW are tops, but I think the Beech Bend ride will be somewhere in there, too.

You can't tell from the video, but there will be plenty of air and major speed the whole way.

How was the Italian Job video exaggerated? Just because it was edited really well doesn't mean Paramount (or Keith) exaggerated anything. The coaster's actually way better and more fun than I expected.

Thunderhead is my favorite GCII coaster (well, favorite woodie period) by far followed by Hershey Wildcat and Gwazi, which just "grabbed" me more than Lightning Racer did. I still thought LR was really fun, just not as intense as I expected.

I haven't rode Thunderhead yet, but Gwazi was awesome, Wildcat beats me to death.

A day at the park is what you make it!

I think the video looks awesome with tons of air. GCII air looks different than what you might expect, but after Thunderhead, I know what to look for. I will try to hit up this park when I go to ride The Voyage.
Thunderhead was a laugh all the way... mini air pop me fun ride. I'd be looking at the track saying where'd that come from cause I wasn't expecting to be out of my seat at times when I was. Not that I was thrown out of my seat but still I wasn't touching the seat. If that makes sense?

If Beech Bend can do that then I will be adding that to my summer trip next year. Only bad thing is how to do Beech Bend and not go back to the hell hole that was Kentucky Kingdom.

Watch the tram car please....

I'd imagine the ride was being designed well before GG unveild their 90 degree banking. Then again, what do I know? I'm just a poor computer science/computer security student.

I've often wondered from time to time, how to write good poetry- and make it all... Work.
