Heck most zoos and FEC's have a better arguement at calling themselves a "major theme park."

They can't possibly do any worse, Brett. :) I'd be willing to try someone from Idaho, since it's painfully obvious that the current Pennsylvanians are simply digging the hole deeper.
Hi
Where's SpecialEd at? I just got the guy to sign up and he's missing the first surfacing of his "homepark" ...
I think the plight of CLP is similar to the current ownership of the Pittsburgh Pirates. CLP has gotten to the point where they cannot compete in the major markets with the big boys, heck they've gotten to the point where that can't evan add mediocre additions in the offseason, like the amusement park equivalent of a 40 year old catcher,
I agree with Impulsive's observation that someone from Idaho would not understand how to operate CLP. The key is to understand CLP's niche and what has worked in the past. Past failed efforts of closing the gates and charging a high admission combined with concerts failed miserably. CLP is basically a summer resort that thrives on walk up business and the weather during the course of the week by families on vacation. It has been demonstated that the park is clearly linked to the vitality of the resort business in the area--when the park was closed one season, the rest of the resorts really felt the impact.
Unfortunately the great families that once owned parks in the past, like the original owners of CLP and Kennywood, are a thing of the past. The only remaining type of entities still in the business are the Knoebels. Someone like the Knoebels could probably turn things around, but I doubt that they would be willing to acquire another park.
Until a hero steps forward that truly understands the CLP market, I think the park's future will remain dim.
Hey, Impulsive, thanks Lady, now you go...

Doesn't a location actually have to have rides to be considered and amusement park or theme park?
well, not technically.. it just has to "amuse" people or have a theme. ;)
So does that mean my living room is an amusement park? It occasionally has grass (when I've just mowed), it has pictures of roller coasters, and everything in there amuses me! Cool! I'm the owner of an amusement park!
