Perhaps some of the rides were sold to SFA back in it's days as Wild world?

This was way before Wild World was even conceived. Wild World opened in 82 and didn't have any amusement rides till 85. I don't think any of the rides are at Wild World or SFA for that matter.

Wild World started as The Wildlife Preserve back around 1973/74-and the original investor was Ross Perot and then the ABC network, who then sold it to a different owner.Maybe Marriott should have tried buying up the Wildlife Preserve and renovating it into an actual amusement park.

I've also heard that Marriott was offered some land in Anne Arundel County around 1979/80,but by then they had given up on the idea of building a third park.

Is 13 years the new record for a resurrected thread? Almost to the day, in fact...

This is interesting, though. I don't recall ever seeing this thread, and I didn't know anything about this. I lived in Prince William County from 2004-2013...would've been cool to have a Marriott park in my back yard. Or probably not.

Marriott was not involved with Great Adventure.

Disney ran into similar issues in the 90's when they wanted to build Disney's America in Virginia.

The Triple Ferris Wheels were built on site and were, basically, prototypes.
