Great Adventure's BTR's theming gone...thought as to why

I was thinking, perhaps they took out all of the theming in the queue line on BTR to use for the new stunt show...any thoughts?
I really don't think they would use all that junk in one stunt show, but I could be wrong.

There are only 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who dont.
Yeah, I miss the effects too. Perhaps they were too sloppy during painting? Yellow and dark blue specks maybe went on that graffiti wall that is now painted a plan gray. The toilet bowl and all the other junk props are gone too. A wire is sticking out of the ground where the cop car used to be. I think the SFGAM version, just repainted as well, still has its cop car. *** Edited 6/2/2004 7:59:32 PM UTC by CHILLERLC1***
Yes, SFGAm kept the cop car. All the other junk is gone though.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Perhaps the license on the name is running out? Yet another casualty of Six Flags' financial problems?

Where is Six Flags gonna find a new name for 384 coasters?
There is a big pile of junk sitting in the lot behind Batman. Why they don't take that crap and put it in Batman's line is beyond me. The theming on Batman was amongst the most impressive at any SF park and to see it disappear is a real shame.

Who'da thought that theming a coaster to look like the industrial area of Newark would work so well?

Unless they will theme it to the new Batman movie coming out next year
Perhaps we were all fooled, and that wasn't really theming, it was just the trash that had piled up there over the years.

I was thinking it was more like Trenton, Rob.
I dunno... have you ever ventured into the bowels of Newark? :)
Perhaps they couold reroute the queue into some of that space and then use the space in front of BTR for another small attraction.

I've ventured into the vowels of Newark...does that count? ;)
I think it's because the junk yard themeing didn't match the new yellow paint job. The themeing went fine with the old black rusty look the ride used to have, but now the ride looks much cleaner and so does the line.

The only two Batman's who lost the junkyard themeing, are the one's that were painted yellow this year so it makes sense.

They probally reused some of those props. The toilet is back in the bathroom and the cop car is the one the security officers push around to get to emergencies. :)

Weight lost to ride more coasters......90lbs
As Cs6153 mentioned, I think that we will possibly see some updated theming on several Batman coasters next year in conjunction with the release of the new Batman movie. It would also be a refreshing change to hear some new music in the queue line. The old Prince tunes and score is getting kinda stale, in my opinion.

But personally, I'd gladly trade a BTR theming update at SFGam for that shiny new B&M floorless many of us have been hoping for... Medusa mid-west, perhaps?

I've just found out that the removal of the theming was all part of the refurbishment program that is going on for the next few years, which will include new/updated theming. Still, seems weird that they'd remove it now if the new theming isn't coming til next year.
The park is doing a lot of general improvements. Maybe they are cleaning that Q up and then going to put it back. IF its still on site maybe thats why. Most was junk and should be thrown out. Lets hope they do put it back in there. Is the theming still inside with the Bat Suit?

Maybe they are going to make the Q smaller and inside where all the trash was. This way that outside over flow Q can be removed for something new. Maybe this is why water town effect isn't open?

Just and idea!

Thanks,
DMC

Personally, I never cared for the theming of the B:TRs anyway....maybe they'll do something other than "post-nuclear urban jungle" with this one? ;)

After riding Great White, I can honestly say that a BETTER theme is a good idea, even if the ride itself is basically a *slightly rougher-than average* clone...Steel Eel is teh roXors though...:)

They can just get their parks bought and have the rides renamed "Dominator" and "Thunderhawk."
